I was reading the How to bulletin on replacing the stock belt tensioner with the Dayco tensioner and realized this is something I need to do. I have severe wobble in my tensioner and it chirps all the time. The issue is that I can not seem to find the Dayco at any store in town. I was able to find this Duralast belt tensioner that looks identical to the Dayco. It also has the same last 3 digits of the part number. Dayco is #89269, duralast is #305269. Does anyone know if this is the same part just in a different package sold by duralast. Or if not, does the duralast compare in quality to the Dayco? any info is appreciated. here is link to the Duralast on Autozone

Not sure if I inserted the link properly or not. If it doesnt work then just search the part number 305269 on autozone.com.

also here is a pic of it

In all honesty anything you install will likely be better than the stock one. BUT for your info..You get dayco's at advance auto's and places like that. Duralast is a autozone product. Everytime I have ever gone in there they have never stocked dayco.

Different brand name, but probley manufactured in the same plant. You should be fine with the Duralast product; most of their items have a at least a one year warranty.

BTW, are you currently active duty?

Yeah thats what i figured. They look identical. Im going to buy it tomorrow morning before work.
I am no longer active duty. Im IRR (individual ready reserve) status for 2 more years. I served 5 active duty with 3 which they can call me back to active duty if needed. But luckily the Marine Corps no longer calls back to active duty since they increased their total number to 215,000. When i joined we were only 200,000 strong.

Banditz, it was an honor to be able to serve my country. But no need to thank me. Just keep those in mind that are still fighting in Afghan, and especially the family of those that gave the ultimate sacrifice.

I guess that link clears everything up! I guess i missed the part where it actually states Duralast is made by Dayco. Good find Sarge!!

I bought my truck with 42k miles, Im at 45k now, which i consider low mileage. I find it odd that probably 50% of the members on here have had an issue with their OEM tensioner at such low mileage. Recall or TSB maybe???

I also have to say, I have been a member of Ranger Power Sports when i owned a Ranger, and GM truck club when i owned a Silverado. 355 nation by far is the best forum i have been a part of. I have been browsing hundreds of posts before I posted myself, and all of the information given has been helpful, everyone is friendly and the moderators do an awesome job.
