Thanks for the link @cart7881! The part is indeed the (#7) right side chrome trim piece needed. My local dealership mentioned they can order this part, but said there may be a few weeks delay due to supply chain and UAW strike issues. I've saved the GM Parts Giant link you provided as a possible backup source.

Hi all,

I recently had an incident with one of the four-legged critters with horns and while my Colorado may have won the battle, it wasn't without some front-end damage. Thankfully my insurance company is covering all costs, however, the body shop I am working with is unable to locate a few of the necessary replacement parts. I've searched the Internet high and low, and made countless phone calls to dealerships and auto recyclers, but I've been unsuccessful in finding a new or even used Colorado Xtreme or late model (2009+) ZQ8 grille. I'm now turning to the forum to see if anyone out there has an extra grille, or even grille parts, they would like to sell?

If you happen to have a damaged grill frame, I would even be interested in the parts highlighted in green below (#10 and the two #7 trim pieces). I currently have a brand new 2-piece OEM grille frame (part #1) that I can insert the Xtreme or ZQ8 grille mesh (part #10) into to "rebuild" a grille. My preference is to purchase a complete Xtreme grille assembly, but I'll gladly piece one together if needed.

I've been keeping an eye on Amazon but haven't found any Xtreme specific grilles or grille parts other than the upper right chrome trim molding (#7 in the diagram above). I did find the complete chrome "GM Accessory" grille on Amazon and may end up buying this item as a donor for parts. Amazon definitely has many standard (aftermarket) grilles like we'd find on the Z85 base and Z71 pickups, and a good selection of billet aftermarket grille inserts too.

Thanks for sharing the part number list @MountainMan! I double checked the part numbers I've been using for the "GM Accessory" grille(s) and they match your list exactly. I've been searching all of the popular sites, online and offline, high and low, but no real luck yet. I even tried ChatGPT and other AI models. They're probably getting sick of my comments though... "you're the robot with Internet access, try searching harder!"

 

I haven't had much luck finding an Xtreme grille yet, but I did locate a chrome "GM Accessory" grille to use as a possible donor. Anyone ever attempt to disassemble one of the GM Accessory grilles by carefully cutting the grille frame tabs to remove the grille mesh? Below is a photo of the back side for reference:

 

Just wanted to drop a quick update on this thread. I placed an order for an Xtreme grille this afternoon and assuming shipping goes well, I'll have the parts needed for my local body shop. If anyone is in need of a used chrome "GM Accessory" grille, Deerfoot Auto in Pennsylvania has a complete grille available for $125 at the time of this writing.

 

Well, my search for grille parts is back on. The vendor I had purchased a grille from contacted me this morning and reported that the grille was damaged and no longer available, even though I had already paid for it. I will be receiving a refund, but that means I am now searching for the parts once again. I've asked the vendor to help me locate another grille, so I'll leave their business name anonymous and help spare their reputation at this time. Sadly, I've come to expect this sort of thing with merchants these days.

 

For anyone following this thread, I was finally able to locate an Xtreme donor grille, purchase and receive the part. I've now carefully cut out the plastic "welded" tabs holding the grille mesh into the grille frame using a Dremel tool and will be installing the Xtreme grille mesh into a new grille frame.

 

Shot in the dark but do you know where to find the little clips for the grille , my grille is in good condition but just about every clip that goes into the frame is obliterated
