You have a pic of what your talking about?

If its what I think your talking about, there is no play in mine. Just don't get over zealous tightening then down..they will break...again, if this is the samething I'm thinking of.

 

also check your sway bars links. i had one just a little loose and made the same noise. not sure on the caliper play

 

make sure those pins have some sort of grease or anti seize. That should take care of the slop. There shouldn't be much slop anyway. They are slip fit holes and should have maybe 0.002 to 0.004 difference.

I think I will go ahead and replace them. They are cheap enough. I don't think it's the sway bar links. I check them and everything else and the only thing that is loose enough for me to move is the brake caliper.

I'll report back on my findings.

get new boots for them while you are at it. As above, the play should be just detectable, almost nothing.
