i think it's time u learn how to fiberglass. it's not that bad mang. check out NCSadist thread of his CAD design i really like it and i'm pretty sure you could build it out of just wood.

Fiberglassing isn't that hard, just messy. At least it is for me since I am no where near good at it yet.

Build the skeleton with whatever you see fit. I had wood and plastic. Then you just wrap what you want with some material (I used some t-shirt style material) and coat it with resin and then coat a sheet of 'glass, lay it on there and repeat. Get a layer and let it harden. Then apply another... basically.

Check out fiberglassforums.com. Shit load of advise on there.. There is also a Fiberglassin for Noobies thing on here. Think Geeds put it together.

here are a couple shots of when I built mine.

Just be glad you dont have to worry about epoxy vs polyester resin. All I can use on SMC hulls is epoxy. Once you get the hang of it Fiberglassing isnt that hard. Just messy. Oh and make sure to wear a respirator. You dont want to suck that shit into your lungs.

All you need is a simple structure. Stretch fleece over it and staple. Brush on resin in numerous coats. It dries hard. Sand smooth, add body filler and sand and repeat. Then primer and paint or just cover in vinyl. Its super simple. 1 gallon of resin costs around $25-$35.

Fleece can be had at any material store. Its thick and soft and easily stretched. Holds resin well.

Yeah i modeled mine after the OEM console and put my twist on it. Longer with extra storage, wider and better armrest. Plenty of storage under the arm too. I love it!!

It was my first time doing my own fiberglass though ive helped my friend build a few sub enclosures. Super easy!

i think a comfy arm rest is key. the stock one was awful. i didnt go the totally custom route, i just bought a console out of a ford taurus, modified the brackets, painted and reupholstered. absolutely love it.
