So I just wanted to get an idea of how much I would be looking at spending if I decided to bagg my truck. I've been talking to a friend who has done great custom work on vehicles and I told him I had the 2" drop all around and that I was soon to be at 3/4 then he asked why not just bagg it? Then I was like "hm I need to ask/look around"
So here I am,

For those of you who have done it or worked around bagging a 355
What are the least and most expensive bagging set ups? I've been looking around in the forums and seen some really nice set ups bit now I want to talk price on making it happen
Thank you all in advanced :D

I have zero experience with bagging, so I really dont know what kind of set up would be using or making etc. i just wanted to get an idea of costs 3-7 or 8K???? just throwing numbers out there hehe... i only asked this because my friend suggested to do it if i wanted to drop my truck to the ground but still have a nice ride with bags. :D

A good shop that's done Colorado's before will probably charge you around $6000. These trucks aren't as easy as bagging an S10 or whatever your friend might be use to doing.
I dont know of any good shops around here :( small town in WA state...
Yeah its not a weekend thing lol. I've seen trucks torn apart for months
then this might never take place because its my daily ride :( unless i sell my camaro but i dont wanna hehe...

yea, unless your working full time on it. Its a few months long for sure.
arhhhhh :anger::anger::anger: I was really thinking it be like in two weeks working only like on the weekends... :(
I took my truck to a buddy that did alot of custom work and now Ive had to replace pretty much everything he did. Do yourself and your friendship a HUGE favor and take it to a professional shop. When I bagged it the first time I spent about $5000 and Ive probably spent another $3000 fixing things. I called Nfumus in Dallas Tx and they told me $6700 with them narrowing the axle and making me a fuel cell... I just got the axle narrowed last week and I still dont have a fuel cell.
Darn, sorry to hear... I will really take my time with this if i really decide to go for it... thanks for the heads up...

Thinking about it 6k don't sound bad for some good craftsmanship. I need a loan lol
just remember all them pictures from scratch to the master piece... hehe:th_woot:

there are lots of variable here.

i would say 2k is a good start in parts.

next is labor. lots of labor. the rear-ends are too wide on 355s, so you either have a very limited wheel selection, or you narrow your rear end, or swap in a 85ish 4wd toyota truck rear end which is about 4 inches total shorter.

the your rear frame has to be narrowed and bridged/nothced. and at that point you mnight as well cut off your rear frame and throw the whole thing and axle in the dumpster.

then locate a yota rear, and build new rials and whatever style 2/3/4/5/6 link for your axle. add bags/shocks, relocate gas tank, brake lines, make bed mounts....

it adds up quickly. colorads are POS's when it come to laying them out, and by far the most expensive truck to bag.

enjoy.

if i ever do mine it will be much cheaper than that, i want it to be bagged and lifted, 4 linked rear on ifs. its just a dream right now though. everyone usually goes straight axle on those set ups but i think it would be sexy sitting at a show with 35"s or 37"s laid in the front fenders.

I have finally talked my boss into making me 4 link and air ride on my colorado. He said he isn't going to make just one though cuz it isn't worth his time. If you are interested it would help me out. He was thinking full rear 4link and airside with compressor and air tank for like 2500. We are in north Idaho. About 40 minutes from Spokane. You can look at our website trex-tech.com. There isn't any small truck stuff but it could give you an idea

bagging.... daily driver.... good luck man... I wouldn't recommend this to even someone I hated. If you drive it as a truck or use it daily I wouldn't bag it. but that is just me, if you spent LOTS of money and or have it done right for LOTS of money you would be ok driving it daily.

anyone have an idea of how many miles a set of bags can handle?

Thats the stupidest shit Ive ever heard. I drive my bagged truck every day and have never had any issues. I moved and towed a trailer halfway across the country with it too.

why not do a wide body bagged, fiberglass front and rear fenders, 22"s or 24"s, and leave the rear at factory width??? seems like it would be loads cheaper than narrowing and be something awesome that hasnt been done before. fiberglass bedsides are $400 a pair,,, fronts are $300 a pair, notch the stock frame, run some wheel spacers to sit them out close to the fenders.... it would look awesome.

axle? or axle and frame? you shouldnt have to touch the width of either if you did the fenders. wouldnt have the issue of running super high backspace to get inside the fender and be all on the frame. maybe if i hit them in the head with it enough someone will at least try it lol, you have to admit it would look awesome if done with taste, no small wheels or narrow tires

Just the axle. Im running the armada's so to keep them I had to narrow the axle to not hit the fenders which I had to flare origionally. I do think the wide body would look sick, Im still hoping to hit the lotto so I can take a crew cab and make it longer (like those big ass dodge trucks) then put a long bed, make it a dually and throw a diesel engine in it lol.... anyone want to buy me some tickets? lol

I was going to jump in this post and start dropping bombs, but I will just tell you THE MOST VALUABLE information that I have ever been given when it comes to custom trucks.

YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR

$2,500 to bag the whole truck is too cheap in my opinion. Considering bag parts alone for my truck were over $2k. I would expect to pay $4,000-$5,000 for a reliable, high quality, frame laying suspension. When you have an idea of who is going to do the work be sure to research research research!!!!!!!!!!

If it makes you feel any better we could charge you $10000 for the kit. I can however tell you that similar kits with the same bars bags and brackets go on our 4link kits for 1 ton pickup trucks that routinely pull 10000+ loaded 30 ft trailers without any problems. I am sure that a 3700 lb truck that will never have a pebble in the bed will last plenty long. If you want to pay $6000 for a box of parts worth about $1500 then be my guest.

Love this forum and all its members
I like to hear (read) everyone's opinion and input
Trashing and bashing posts also are fun hehe
So based on all I read so far 2500 just for a 4link and all the goodies I need for the rear end? I would have to pick u then come back and find someone to install it? Then need to find someone who can do the front end?
Here is the thing
I just sold my 2 galaxies (63 and 63 1/2).
I still owe $ on the truck, I am planning on getting a dd and leaving the truck for a weekend cruiser.
So I still have to wait and I am not 100% sure I would jump into this just now
Maybe later on but not right now
I just had the frame noched for my 3/4 drop and think I will keep it like that for a while
I still have the bed off right now

Don't get me wrong because I am kinda interested just not sure
I am also waiting to hear back from this guy who is going to give me a hand on tips and ideas on this as well

Thanks to all of you :D:D:D

Edit: by the way I was thinking of the long bed mod for my truck when I saw that white one and as I was looking at my truck w no bed all I saw was a huge cab and nothing back there lol (my friends called it a semi)
