I know this isn’t a new topic/question, but I haven’t found an answer I’m satisfied with. For those of you with Crew Cabs and subwoofers, what are the pros and cons of your setup? Most of my research on the forums leads me to installs, but nobody comes back to talk about what it’s like to actually live with them. For example, those of you with underseat boxes, do you have to worry about people sitting on them? Are there better options out there?

Thanks

I have two 8”kicker L7T subs under my rear seat. The box they are in is a custom one I made that was supposed to be temporary but I just have not had time to build a better one. My subs fire up into the seat bottom (not ideal for me). I bought the kicker speaker Guards for them. I did have to relocate my Jack. I found that I didn’t lose any storage space as under the rear seat sucks for storage anyway as the seat does not fold up. I have two teens (well one is 12) and so far have not had any problems with them hopping up and down on the seat. The box is a bit smaller than I wanted but it does provide the minimum air space per sub. The next box will be bigger and will contour to the floor better and use every inch of space under the seat and will be down firing. This box allows the rear seat to sit in the stock location. No seat spacers to raise it up.

That's pretty much how I'm running now. I have a 10 inch that's sitting on the floor. But I like the idea of being able to use the sub and all of my seats at the same time lol.

I like your idea a lot. I hadn't thought about using dual 8's. I think I'll go that route and build my own box when I'm home from school next.

I am working on one today actually. Spent a little time getting it laid out, but Im using a Skar SVR-10. Removed the cup holder from the center of the back seat and removed its mounting bracket so I can slide the box back into the seat. Since its a 10, i didnt want the box interfering with the front seats reclining. My only concern is whether the small gap separating the sub from the air space under the seat will be enough. We will see i guess lol.
