During the fall foliage ride in NH, Old guy was showing us his 5.3L in his '09 Colorado. Noticed that he had a factory black hood insulator under the hood and it looks like we all have the mounts for it. Dressed it up nice under the hood, anyone know the part number for this? I've searched all over but can't find it anywhere.

Plus the push in plugs to hold it in place Rich. I'm sure they have a GM part number too. If your not a numbers matching guy, they can be bought at most auto parts stores, but you'll need the wide headed plugs. :yup:

I wouldn't mind one of these either...though I'm not sure if there's too much point to it aside from quieting the engine noise and somewhat protecting your paint from heat....?

An alternative:
Super Soundproofing Hoodliner

Won't look as good, won't look as "factory fitted" as the GM piece, but should look great if carefully cut and installed, and will provide the acoustic insulation benefits.

Working on something similar (more parts ordered) stay tuned...
