Lifting the drivers seat?

Or the front seats. I find the front seat of my truck to be a little on the low side. Especially the rear of the seat. I feel like I am sitting in a hole. Compared to my Yukon I feel like I am on the floor. Even the Aveo I traded in on it sat up higher.

So I was wondering if anyone has done this. I have the manual seat so it shouldn't have electronics hooked to it, or at least minimal stuff. Is there a bracket available to raise the seat level a couple inches. Maybe raise the rear more. Or am I going to have to fabricate something.

To me it seem like I space under where it attaches to the floor would raise it just fine. Or is this to much work to get to those attachment points?

Any thoughts?

the back you can just use washers/spacers and longer bolts.

for the front look up supermodulation. he did a bracket that raises the front. don't know if he is making them for sale, but it'll atleast give you an idea of what to do.

Lifting the rear my do enough. I took a piece of foam and laid it on the seat for the ride home from work. If lift the back it may make the seat at a better angle for me. I may get a pad mad in the mean time.

One question is how do the bolt attach. Are they thru to the underneath. Meaning can I just unscrew it from the floor or do I need to get at something under the vehicle.(which would seem weird, but I figured I would ask)

Seat removal will be done from the interior. If you make any adjustments to the brackets, make sure they are secure enough to hold the seat in place in the event of an accident. I see people modifying rear seats to fit speakers and the height modifications appear non functional. I mean they are raised but no longer stable.

Also, a semi-common modification for our trucks is to swap out the factory seats for H3 seats. There is a how-to article if you want to read it and see if it's something you'd consider.

I saw the H3 seat mod. Looks nice but out of my price range for a few months.

As for making it stable… yeah I thought about that too. I'm thinking for now just cutting a piece of foam and covering it. I may look into how hard that would be to put under the stock cover. Then I'll look into raising the rear of the seat.

I'll probably get used to it I reality it just seems the angle is off and the height too really.

Also I looked for that member's brackets. Not sure he's selling them. I didn't find mention of them from my looking but I haven't spent a ton of time on it either. Maybe I should send him a message.

Anyway, I have so many ideas on what I want to do to the truck. It is nice to see a lot of people figure out low cost mods on this site. Very cool.

I ended up not ever finding that link. I did however lift the rear of my seat with solid steel spacers and longer bolts which was the biggest problem I had with it.

Wouldn't mind the whole thing up a bit more though.

When I bought my 2007 reg. cab I5 Canyon SLE the first thing I didn't like was the cloth bench seat felt like it just set flat with no tilt backward. and the material felt like canvas even though it was the premium grade. The height seemed ok. So I took it to a upholster shop and had the complete seat covered in velour with silver inserts and door panels to match. The guy built the front up just a little but you can't notice it higher in the front. But when you sit in it you feel just enough backward angle that its very comfortable, especially on long trips. Some of the best $700.00 I've spent.
