Found a smokin deal on craigslist for a 1970 GMC for $450. It has a 250 straight 6, has an exhaust leak, needs a tune up and a carrier barring but drives alright.

Using the 69 GMC frame. Started on the frame from LWB to SWB.

Sandblasted frame.

Yeah front and rear and then gonna run the Boss 335's, same as the rado's 330's except 5 spoke.

Yes I am! Just easier that way. Mine will be done way before Travis' and easier to start building it up on the 69 frame instead of having to disassemble the 70, and then he'll just use the 70 frame.

SWB= short wheel base, ive shortened the frame and gonna shorten the box.

Can't wait to see how this progresses! Also very glad you're taking the time to properly shorten the frame. Are you planning on using an actual swb bed or are you just shortening the current bed?

Yeah i still have to fish plate the inside of the frame for added strength. HaHa, ive seen a couple of frames done where its just cut and butt weld behind the cab, makes no sense to me. As for the box gonna shorten it.
