The FAQ from Badlands

Do you rent ATV's or motorcycles? We no longer rent machines. Only helmets at $20 each.

How old do you have to be to ride there and do my parents need to sign me in? You can be any age to enter the Badlands™ but you must have the consent forms that we provide filled out by a legal parent. We do require that they be notarized and we also would like to have a copy of the parent's insurance card if the minor is not with their parents. We can mail these to your home address or we can fax them to you. CLICK HERE to access required youth forms.

What are your hours? Normally we are open 7 days a week 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. However, during the summer, we extend our hours on Friday's and Saturdays until 7 p.m.

Do you sell or rent flags? We sell the flags in our office and prices are as follows-- $14.00- 1/4" pole with flag, $19.50 for 5/16" colored pole with flag, and $22.50 for pole with spring and flag, $5 for just the pennant. If you need a replacement compression bolt, they are $5. All flag pennants have a Badlands™ logo. We also fix Badlands flags at no charge (as long as you have your pieces).

Do you allow buggy’s or sand rails? No, buggy’s and sand rails are not allowed in our park. We do allow small carts such as honda odysseys, pilots, UTVs, carter go carts and similiar carts. Flag and helmets required.

Do you allow alcohol in your park?
No, absolutely no alcohol is allowed in our park. Drinking and riding or driving high performance vehicles just don't mix!

Do you rent helmets?
Yes we do. $20 each.

Who needs to wear a helmet? Helmets are required for all motorcycle, ATV and side by side machines. Only street-like vehicles do not require a helmet.

Does everyone have to sign in at the office? Yes, EVERY person who enters the park must come into the office and sign in. This even includes someone that is not going to ride and is only along to spectate. Even children who come with their parents must sign in. If you are over 18 you need to present a valid photo id.

The rules state that you need a roll cage. Do I need a roll cage for my stock truck or SUV? As long as the cab is as it was originally and you have seat belts and no back seat passengers (if open top).

Do I need insurance to ride at the park? We don't require insurance to ride at our park but you would be wise to consider it for your own protection. You are as responsible here, as if you were driving on the road, and hit someone.

I have a stock vehicle, are there places in the park for me to ride? The park has trails for all levels of 4-wheeling, from very easy to very hard. A stock vehicle will have plenty of areas to ride.

Do you have very easy areas for someone who is learning to ride a four wheeler or ATV?
Yes, there are areas where a beginner can practice and learn to ride their vehicle or ATV.

Do you have to have stock exhaust? No, but we encourage the use of quiet exhaust systems.

yeah, im not sure which would be easier. i wouldnt mind getting up a little later and just drive less then 5 miles to teh park. but either way chicago is gonna suck to drive throught. rush hour in the afternoon or in the morning.....
