Oil Leak

I have a 2010 Crew Cab ZQ8 V8 that now has 87,400 mi, all by me. Need some direction as to what to be looking for in oil leak.
Background: Oil & Filter changes every 5000-7000 mi with synthetic since new. Absolutely no leaks. Last changed oil & filter @ 86,500. Appeared to be no leaks as I always check. Had surgeries and could not drive for over 3 weeks so truck sat until yesterday when I started driving again.
Found oil on garage floor today. Appears to be on right side of engine. Nothing visible from on top. Can't get down under it for at least a week more. But when I do, ideas where I should start?
Oil leak had two stages - on dried and about 2" in diameter and 1/2 oz of relatively fresh oil. Beginning to believe I did not tighten plug or filter enough, but looking for ideas.
Thanks.

I have a 2010 Crew Cab Z85 V8 and I think I might have had the same oil leak issue. Not sure about the mileage point though. The oil pan gasket, between pan and block, is a 2 piece design (R and L side length wise). I had a leak and I originally suspected the oil pan drain plug. Dealer confirmed oil pan gasket and replaced them under warranty. Fixed the leak. Gave me the impression it is a known weak area of the V8 motors in our trucks.

Finally had a chance to spend more time on this. no oil above oil pan and no oil around pan/block connection. But still had light coat of oil on engine/pan near transmission. Was the rear seal.
