P0449 Purge Solenoid Valve Replacement Help

Did a little searching but never quite found anyone who has actually replaced the PURGE solenoid and how the hell they did it. My truck is an '09 Colorado 2wd auto. I'm not even sure if my 2 year old could get his hand in there to get all the fittings disconnected and unbolt the thing. Wheel and innner fender liner was removed. I ended up getting the electrical connector and the exit piping to the throttle body off but that was the end of it. The pictures in the thread below are very deceiving because there are many obstacles in the way including rad. hose, pigtails, strut tower, ABS lines, brake lines and misc. sharp objects. I lost a pint of blood cause my dexterity with gloves was nil and ended up saying fuck it. I even removed the battery and tray hoping to have some kind of access from the top to no avail. Anyone have any tips or pointers other than child labor? I haven't taken a vehicle to a shop in years but I'm about to give up on this damn thing and bite the bullet.

I've done it.

Probably the hardest thing I've ever done on this truck, only because there's NO way you can fit two hands in there where it's at. The key is to take your time. Take the wheel off and find a bucket or something to sit on and just take your time. You'll finally get it.

It's drastic, but removing the fender would probably help too. It'l help you get closer in so your arms aren't stretched out trying to access it. Since you have the liner out anyway, removing the fender wouldn't take 5 minutes.

Use two long extensions to unbolt it.

Well atleast I know it has been done before.....and you survived. That being said, got a question.....?

Since it can hardly even be seen.....how does the tube entering the valve release? I'm assuming it's a quick disconnect but didn't appear to be like the one exiting the valve and going to the throttle body. I was thinking that I needed to get another 12" extension and could have probably got it. Another GM engineering marvel that simply amazes me.
