How is this done? And can you just take the top part off, like the part that you sit against? That your back sits against?

Not sure about the back rest but taking it out is super easy. 4 bolts, lift and it's out.
2 bolts are behind the seat toward the middle and 2 bolts are in the front two legs. I've taken mine out twice by myself. It wasn't easy but it is possible. I would HIGHLY recommend a second hand though. Makes it 100times easier!

the back parts just fold forward when you pull the little loop between the side of the seat and the c pillar...
As Jval says, 4 bolts to get it off the floor. There are some torx screws (don't remember the size) under the covers where it pivots. If you take those out, the seats come apart. I suppose you could take them apart in the truck if you wanted to.
