No transmission section?

Oh well.. I've got the 4 speed auto 4L60E (60 or 65?) and it kicks on the 1-2 shift when cold but it's fine once it's warmed up.

Just wondering... Any ideas?

^ That's what I figured.. As long as there's no cause for concern.. My first car had a stripped case from the L/R clutch pack from the previous owner doing too many neutral drops. (700R4 = junk)

Just makin sure. :)

Its a 4L60-E.

Very common in cooler/cold climates. Mine does it till the trans temps get up.

Sounds like a fluid issue like everyone said. 1-2 requires intermediate band to apply, most like mine do the slide-bump 1-2. I do know there is a tune update for improved 1-2 shift quality on our trucks. Might help, but paying for a tune that might or might not do anything is not in my budget. I would just pay attention to it and only do anything if it gets worse.
Oh by the way 700R4 is also called a 4L60. So add electronics and you get the 4L60E like the one in your truck, great transmissio, does have some flaws (reaction Shell snapping), but all trans have achilles heels.

I appreciate the responses guys.. :)

I'm gonna do a service on it soon. Going to do some RP oil. It won't need to be changed very often, so I'll try some expensive fluid and stuff that will last a long time.

Mine did it today for about 10 minutes in traffic then was fine. I also noticed with the elimnated intake res and k&n filter with no cover on the box it shifts wierd sometimes. Like if I go to floor it it will kickdown for like 2 seconds then go into the next gear without holding the passing gear or w.e
