I've been experiencing this problem for quite a while now. My 07 Chevy Colorado Z71 2wd surges rpms between 1000 and 400 when coming to a stop. While stopping it also dims headlights. I've tried cleaning the TB and the MAF but still no luck. So today I went to AutoZone and got my battery and alternator tested. The battery that was in my truck was a piece of crap so I got a brand new battery. Went back and had it tested again and the test showed the battery was good(obviously) but my voltage regulator had failed. Would replacing my alternator be the fix? The truck also has 110,000 miles, new plugs, new air filter, new battery, cleaned TB, and a cleaned MAF. MY PCM was checked and it had quite a few updates also needed for the computer. I have been looking into this on 355nation and C'Fans and still haven't had anything match my problem. No CEL's.
