should I widen the rear track?

Having a custom rear end means I can spec the track width from the face of one rear rotor to the face of the opposite side.

On 18x8 wheels should I go wider at the rear than the OE width?

No, I'm buying a semi-custom independent rear suspension.
And for that I have to specify the desired track width.

I'm thinking of having the rear wheel-well openings flared a little to close up the opening some, so I would have the option of flaring it a little also. If I did so it would be only a small bit, nothing too obvious.

I'm asking the question generally.. for handling, ride, appearance..
If I can spec any width I want, should I vary from the stock track-width?
Should I bring the rears out any at all relative to the front?

Tires will be P255/55R18 / 104 SL, so section width is 10.4 inches, tread is 9 inches.

(The current wheels are 15-inch steel)

I chose these wheels:

18" x 8"

Bolt pattern = 6 x 135.00
backspace = 5.88
offset = 35 mm
(Choice of offset in either 15 mm or 35 mm).

Really, I'd almost prefer the OE Xtreme 18s.
They're 18x8 in 28 mm offset.
I can't find the backspace anywhere.

And I intend to look around at Nissan Titan wheels, but I'm getting close to time to make a choice and go with it.

Wider is better for traction. But you can always get that wider stance by just getting a wider wheel with the factory width.

What are you planning to do with the truck?

If your not on doing any crazy driving then keep the factory width. If you want to run deep dish wheels without having to get big fender flares then go slightly shorter

Remember if you go shorter with wider wheels then decide you want a different offset you can always get wheel spacers to push the wheel back out. Some people don't like wheel spacers but I don't see an issue. You get what you pay for. Plus if you go wheel spacers you have the option of changing your lug pattern to get different wheels.

Yeah, I really like that style but I would prefer gray or gunmetal also.
Not yet completely convinced I'm ready for all black but I do like that wheel.
And I'm not a chrome kinda guy.
I'd like it much better if the rims were polished aluminum on black spokes.

I keep thinking of those in black against white paint and I'm back and forth on it.
But my window of choice is closing.... gotta make a choice and go with it.

Scrubs where?

Front fender, yeah?
(seems obvious I know, but I'm an idiot and you mentioned pulled rear fenders..)

What is your backspace?

My shop plans to roll my fenders at least...
And I probably won't drop quite as far as you.

I shouldn't have so much problem with scrubbing at the top of the front tires because I'll be relocating the battery to the bed.

All mine are rolled and pulled. Not sure what the back space is. And I thought we were talking about the rear. The fronts I have no problems with the fender well lip.And remember to really get your rear fender well lips out for cleareance you will have to cut the brace inside the wheel well if you try and roll them without cutting the brace you will distort the sheet metal around the wheel well on the outside. Hey thanks much for that info!
I appreciate your time to post for me.

You've convinced me to leave the track width as is..
The rears will have a different geometry altogether than stock of course, as they'll each be on upper/lower control-arms with a pair of coilovers. What that'll mean to fender clearance I don't know, but I wont be surprised if there are problems.

I'm in over my head here and I'll have to wait to see what happens.
I may be in for a lot more $$$ than planned just for the shop to reshape the fenders.. We'll see.
