First post. 2010 factory V8 4x4 with 220K miles. I have to commute twice each week about 250 miles each way. Each trip if I sustain 2K rpm for a couple hours on the freeway, drive a couple miles to my house and switch off, it coughs a big plume of smoke on start-up. Some mechanics are thinking PCV valve. I thought I read some time back that the PCV Valve was in the DS valve cover and there was a recall I likely missed, so I bought one. Before I commit a couple hours, can anyone confirm I am correct If not, thoughts? Thank you in advance, Jim

If not the PCV system, could be leaky valve seals. They leak slow enough to not see any blue while running, but oil will pool up on the back side of intake valves when shut off, causing the plume at start-up.
2011 driver valve cover swap, apparently with improved PCV Valve, fixed the issue. 4 trips, no smoke at next day start and no oil consumption. Thank you all for the input.
