If you check the how-to I did on changing the carrier bearing, you can see what I did to relocate the carrier bearing and clearance for the drive shaft on mine.

Yeah, go off of my truck, mine is a z85 2wd.

That and where the carrier bearing is mounted, it's angled up to keep the bearing perpendicular to the shaft.

You could probably shim it, I bent the mounting location up to the angle I needed, saves excess wear on the carrier bearing.
