just thinking. Possibly try to mount a different mirror.

I just want something besides dumbo and trying to find something else before I go to the SS mirrors.

its not designed to come off at the swivel, but there are 3 bolts underneath the panel cover you can undo to remove the whole piece

 

yeah i was looking at it today. i'll probably go with the ss but we'll see.

 

if you dont mind fuckin them up, take the mirror out then cut off the swivel mount part from the inside. no damage done to the exterior and that should surely take it apart. this is all pending you dont ever need to put them back together....in which case if you do.....GORILLA GLUE :lol:

Just got the kit for the side-mirrors heating (Just the stickers with heating wires that go behind the mirrors) need a how-to, before I screw it up trying to set them in place. Thanx for any help you can provide me with!

 

Stock mirror glass just pulls away. (Takes a bit of force) then you'd apply the heating wires as needed to the mirrors, To get the wires through the mirror, there's a gap to run the wires through.

Also, when re-attaching the mirror glass, push hard. Then give it a good tug to be sure it's snapped in place.

 

BLk guy from Arizona made some blank covers for his truck cause he took the mirrors off. You could go that route and then mount whatever mirror you want... :shrug:

 

Bite the bullet and go get the SS Cal Vu's. I just put them on my Black 2010 CC Z71 4WD and IMHO they look great. Don't see them on my body style very often, but I like 'em and that's all that matters...eh?

Not that ik of, you'll likely have to wire it to a switch or something.

 

broke one mirror trying to take it apart from plastic...waiting for the new one to arrive to finish the second side. did anyone do the heating mirrors yet?
