Supercharging the truck

I just got contact back from the owner of the RKsport supercharger that was posted on ebay and didn't sell. He has accepted my offer so it will probably be shipped by the end of this week.

It has some mileage on it so I will be first bringing it to my local precision bearing shop and having the best possible bearings installed rather than sending it back to Powerdyne. Then the install will begin. I believe it was designed around the 3.5L I5 so I will probably have to do some changes here and there.

It runs 7psi and I believe RKSport claimed 70hp but I'm guessing more in the 50-55hp range. I do have HPTuners though which they didn't have access to when the kit was designed (they made a device that ties into the PCM) so I may be able to pull some more out of it.

This will be my build thread of it though so if your interested stay tuned.

For some reason, I believe this will be a better outcome than the OTTP supercharger thread.....

I can't wait to see this! I bet you'll be able to pull more than an additional 100 hp over stock with this with the proper tune, injectors, and exhaust.

eh, should be a cool build but the ones from RK sport I don't think net a whole lot, Im thinking what he said in the first post if reasonable for this charger with his suspension and tires.. probably a 50-70rwhp increase..

should be sweet tho! gonna be fun no matter what can't wait to see

yea that's my guess, I'm not looking for anything to crazy. Since the lift and tires my truck has been a dog so I'm looking to gain some get up and go back. I'm going to drop the truck back down to just 4" of lift rather than the 7.5" I'm at now and probably a little smaller tire. I think I'm ditching my SAS plans now because my buddy has a toyota already with danas under it for sale cheap so I think I'm going to pick that up in the spring. I would love to SAS this truck but it's just going to be too pricey and I know I will end up driving it like a pussy in the trails because I love this truck too much to flip it.

hehe....what ya wanna sell the take off lift parts for? And what might they be?

pobably just my custom 2"-3" adjustable shackles, because I will need some 1" ones. They are undercoated and have a flo jetted biohazard sign riveted on each to alleviate the ugliness of the shackle hanging below the rear 1/4 panel. Can't remember what they cost me but they probably be up for $50-$70.

Little update:
Superchargers shipping today, the seller has a lot going on so he was a little slow with contact. He also has a methanol injection kit which I may pick up. I'll be ordering my boost gauge and LC-1 wideband o2 at some point in the next week. I also have emails out to powerdyne and RKSport for any and all information I can get about the kit.

do they have any more of them ? and how much did u pay if u dont mind me asking. thanks

Well congrats on the win!

With tuning it should be fun for sure!

nope it only runs 7psi, so an intercooler will most likely just take away from the small amount of boost it will be running so it wouldn't be worth it. I will be running a methanol injection set-up though.

Keep in mind I'm not looking for a race truck out of this just to be able to break 70mph again.

I am thinking this is a smaller build...think it adds like maybe 80hp? Dunno if the cooler would really be helpful on that ...not to familar with builds like this so I may be speaking outta my ass....
