Hello, I have an 05 colorado with the zq8 suspension.

Currently, I have older sierra wheels with 265/70/16 tires which is roughly a 30.61" tire. The truck does not rub a whole lot on turns and such in the parking lots, but the chevy lean on the driver side front makes it rub quite a bit when I go over bumps.

I am putting an 18x8 titan rim on the truck and am looking for suggestions for tires. I don't want a 3" low profile tire that has no ride comfort or rim protection. I don't want to lower the truck. I would like a decent tire that has some meat on it, well as much as possible for this application.

I was thinking a 255/55/18 might work. This is roughly 29.04" which is a decrease of 1.57" or approximately 3/4" further away from the wheel well. I was thinking that, along with some lovin from a hammer might eliminate the rubbing while still providing a tire with a 5.5" tire wall.

Any thoughts or suggestions?

Thanks,

Jim

I run 255x45x18 front and 275x40x18 rear rides and handles great. no tire noise at all.
on factory 18x8 ZQ8 mags.

Looked at a friends tires he had, but they were junk. Found some BFG 245/55/18 cheap at discount tire. Decent reviews there and elsewhere. For $77 a tire, I am willing to give it a shot.

If I get the chrome caps done by Saturday, I will post some pics.

Thanks for all the advice!
