So I got rid of my factory wheels off my truck, and I did not put the TPM sensors in my new ones. Anybody know how to get rid of the low tire warning from the message center?

change the cluster board out to a 06 or older one.

I think a good tech can turn these off at the steelership to

Why do people have problems with TPMS? You should not get a light if you keep the tires within normal operating pressure, and all 4 within a certain pressure of each other. I think it has a 2psi +/- range of each.

One of the reasons for the light is fuel efficiency. Flat tires take power to roll. Not to mention they generate more heat and explode on the highway. True statement. Another reason is for proper tire wear. Over/under inflated tires doesn't wear properly. When the light glows you know it's time to grab a gauge and walk around the vehicle to see which is likely low. Otherwise somebody over inflated a tire while you weren't looking. hehehe

Well sure, if there is a 2psi differential, it will absolutely trip the light. What that tells me is that on a 110 degree day driving down the highway that my tires have gotten hot. My light tripped when it started getting cold because one of the tires were low. Not visibly but when I checked I found one that was lower than the rest. If it's tripping due to heat/cold it will correct when the heat is stable. For me, it would illuminate for a few minutes until I drove, 15 minutes of stop/go to work and it was already off.

Of all the people I know, I haven't heard anybody complain about it. A friend had a light come on the other day on his newer vehicle. He took it in for oil change and mentioned it to the shop. What they found was a tire was low and that tire was wearing more than the others. Who knows how long it would have gone unnoticed before he noticed it was low and wearing irregularly.

TPMS is for dummies who don't carry a preasure gauge with them! Annd for dummies who don't pull over when they feel shimmy and check there tire.

It's just so the steelership can make more money off people who don't have the proper tools or scanners, and to make life dificult for those of us who, swap wheels and tires.

You can't even rotate your tires without this sytem going carzy.

Wow! I don't even know what to say to this. LOL There are more irritating things in my opinion than the ocassional light from a low/high tire pressure.

Rotating tires doesn't change tire pressure. All 4 tires are still reporting the same values as they were 30 minutes ago before they were rotated.

Humm, ya learn something new every day. I had no idea they were related to each corner. What do the shops do when they rotate them? Is there a special tool they have to use to tell the computer the wheels are moved around? It should be something the consumer can do so we don't have to rely on the shop to rotate them every 6k. I think that's to long to go between rotations.

I rotate every 10000 kms or 6000 miles. I beleive you can do it on some systems with magnet and cycling through the igntion and DIC, but it is complicated, and takes alot of time! You can buy a generic scanner for 200-300 that may work, and goes faster! Or you can get a Tech 2 for 3000-4000 .

There is a reset tool that the shops use. It takes them no time at all. I have actually seen someone use a heavy duty round magnet around the valve stem and that can reset some of them. Also, there is a procedure in that dusty old owners manual that says you can start the learn sequence, go the the specified tires, increase or decrease pressure until the horn beeps, then move to the next tire, repeat until complete.

And getting back on the original topic, you could get an 06 or earlier cluster as was said before or blank out the TPMS light and hit the button on the DIC every time the message pops up.

If you are looking to do some cluster swapping, you could get an LED cluster while you are at it? And if you need any help, I'm in the general area!

First cold snap (Below 25 degrees) has my TPMS senors going off. And almost always when it's freezing rain or snow blowing in 25-35+ MPH winds....

A GM Tech II should be able to lower the thresh hold preasure, not to many techs know how to do this though!

Mine comes on when we get some cold weather, once the tires turn for a bit and warm up it goes off though.

When I got my rims/tires my buddy moved my TPS over for me and we did not put them in the same corners of the truck and it's been fine.

I'm not going to bother putting them into my winters, if I even change to my winters at all.
Interesting I was just going by what I in the GM TPMS dealer suplement letter. It was a generic article about TPMS, maybe it doesn't matter if you switch them on the colorados
