3.5 I5 4x4 chevy 178k miles ... Hoping you guys can help.. The truck starts fine in the morning or after it cools down for an hr or two:ugh:,, but wont start back up while hot, seems as if its not getting enough gas or something it also stays at high temp four lines above the midpoint all time never over heats, not sure if the thermostat was change.

Check your starter. A bad starter will not crank when hot. How to Test a Starter Solenoid: 4 Steps - wikiHow

Check to see if the water pump is working. You can tell if the water pump is working by removing the radiator cap with the engine COLD, start it up keep a bucket under the radiator it can get a lil messy. run it til the thermostat opens , you should see the water start flowing thru the system. if you dont & it starts to over heat then your thermostat is not opening. once the engine gets hot put the cap back on before you shut it off . if you shut it off with the cap openned anti freeze will fly out , so be careful.

Hey Guys,

Just wondering if you can confirm my suspicion. I've been chasing this same problem with my 2005 Colorado. Usually after a steep, slow off-road climb and definitely correlates to a lower fuel level. I've also had some "system lean" and "Misfire" codes.

I've tested my fuel pressure. I forgot get my the exact spec is but let's say it's 70psi ignition on motor off. I have 60psi, however when the motor is running the pressure does come up to spec.

I've changed most everything else. 02 sensors, fuel pressure regulator, MAF, plugs and coils recently.

Everything seems to be pointing to fuel pump but want to see if there's anything else I should try or look at first.

Thanks!
