Where is a good place to install a water temp gauge sender on the engine. I have the 4 cylinder. I did not know where else to post this. Thanks for any help.

If you look at my album, I have my gauges installed on the bottom left of the center cluster. Kind of a pain in the ass to push thru the firewall and mount, but I think it looks great.
get a scanguage it has a water temp gauge on it and all you do is plug it into the obd port under the parking brake release its well worth the 150 check it out
^^ those work well to, they also gather the information via the OBDII port as well.

Yeah but not very reliable. With the options mentioned above you will have an actual read out!
Sorry I'm a newby when it comes to the gauge that hooks into the OBD port. I'm old school and like my Autometer manual gauges. The factory gauge on the dash don't tell me squat, it only reads at a quarter of the gauge when fully heated and my heater works fine. So what does that mean? I was going to pull one of the freeze plugs and tap it for pipe threads to put the sensor in the head.
What year truck? 04? Some trucks have the 180 degree tstat and some are what 195 or so. Imo its pointless because if your truck starts to overheat the stocker will read it.
My 04 motor ran a tick over 1/4 but now my 05 has the updated tstat and it almost reads half.

Cut your radiator hose, slide this in, clamp it and install the temp gauge sending unit. The rest should be some what self explanatory.

I use an obd2 bluetooth adapter and my android phone with torque pro. does all that scan gauge can and costs roughly $20 shipped. for all. gonna get me a Acer Iconia a100 7" tab to use instead of my phone so i can have a 7" display.
