Hey guys, i have my heart set on a pair of 22"s from my buddy on this forum. I will be wrapping them in 265/40/22 I have a 2.9 I4. Besides the added weight of the wheels. Will there be any negative effects to my truck from putting these wheels on? Please list anything that you guys have encountered throughout your modding experiences.

Thanks d00ds!

No i don't believe im going to lower it......much  But besides the resistance it applies to the acceleration. Is there any serious mechanical damage that these can cause? Even if its farther in the future?

Thanks for all the info guys, I hope to compensate for the power loss with a CAI and exhaust and a ported throttle body.

Yes. My 3/36 will run out in July though (truck is 2008), but I have not had any issues with the mods that I do have done up to this point with my warranty. I specifially asked about the exhaust before I bought it. They have to pull my truck up on blocks of wood to get the lift under it for oil changes...they have never said a word about it being lowered, etc.

That low profile of tires will make your ride a bit harsher...some of your interior plastics could start rattling more because they'll get jiggled around a lot more...worth it to run 22s IMO.

They will give you a smooth ride as long as you are on a flat surface. But when you hit a pot hole, the tires you have now since they have a larger sidewall, give you a little more bounce so it's like adding pillows to your ride. Small sidewall on newer tires means harder ride. You're going to feel more of each bump.

put on the 22's.

their round just like the tires coming off, if they are balanced it'll be a smooth ride.

if low profile tires (265-40 isn't bad) rode like poop, you wouldn't see every vehicle out there with them.

just put them on and drive the truck for a few days and you tell us what you think.

They will prob void your warranty on suspension parts. telling you those bigger
heavier wheels caused parts to break.

Is that right? My dealership is a bunch of crooks anyways i wouldn't doubt it. Have you experienced this?

dude just get them and if you don't like them sell them to me!! :deal:

but i suggest lowering your truck unless you wanna look like a donk

photobucket is down right now but ill add pics later to show you mine before the drop, and yes i have 22s
