I am not very good at picturing things. I have a white extended cab. What wheels would look good on it?

That's like asking 'what/who is an attractive woman'?

What do you like to see?
What appeals to me may not appeal to you.
My preference is wheels that are smooth, with no fussy little details (like fake bolt-heads, etc).
Wheels get dirty sooner than anything else on the vehicle.
I don't want a lot of little details to make it more work to clean them.
But that's just me.

Black wheels are very popular these days, for myself I like them very much on some vehicles, depending on the paint color, etc.
But that black wheel look only appeals to me on a white vehicle when it's black center and spokes, with a polished rim. I like that look very much (on any paint-job). It's one of my favorites. There again, that's just me.

I don't care for chrome at all.... but it to my eye the one place chrome can look decent is against white paint.

Thing is, there were never so many choices for the 355 platform in the first place.
These trucks were never popular enough to generate that much aftermarket interest.

Myself, I'll take 18's. And that opens the door to a range of choices from Nissan trucks and SUVs.
Because they're so many of them, it's about the best price you'll find while still getting some choices in style, unless you just get lucky somewhere with some OE wheel or other.
They're close to the OE 18-inch wheels.

I just don't care for any of the OE 355 model wheels except the 18x8 Xtreme wheel.
If the Xtreme were easy to find I'd be rolling them, but as they aren't, I'll take the one that gives me some choices for my limited $$$... Nissan take-offs.

Bear in mind, when you settle on a wheel size, you're limited to the tires that are available in that size. That may work well for you or not. Tires matter to me and I'm strongly opinionated in the tires I'll roll.
So I started from there.

So again, just my preference:
-I want a wheel that fits the specific line(s) of tires I want for my street-truck. Tires that are not difficult to find nationwide. Stuff happens out there on the road..
-I prefer wheels that are free of fussy details that accumulate dirt and make for more work when cleaning them.
-I don't want chrome wheels, or any light-colored really shiny finish.
-I want a wheel that if one is damaged I should easily be able to replace it.
Better that then having to replace the entire set.

Color and finish preference for wheels is as individual as paint and trim preference.
Only you can say what appeals to you.
I've seen white wheels on both white cars and on trucks that looked pretty good.

If you have trouble visualizing it, a lot of wheel manufacturers and even tirerack offer a virtual garage, so that you can see the wheels on the vehicle. Most of them allow you to choose vehicle color too.

If running the steel wheels that are typical on a WT, you could just paint them black, GM summit white (assuming that is you truck color), or a combination of both. Just thinking of a cheaper priced change. Then decide if after market wheels is the way you want to go.

I picked the Nissaan Armada 18x8 wheels.
they are round spooked like the old Cragar S/S wheels.
I like the old school look. They are painted Hyper Silver.

I'm leaning that way myself.

Of the various Nissan 18-inch wheels lying around the boneyards, the Armadas appeal most to my eye. Just as you say, kinda Cragar SS-inspired.
(those Cragars were one of the few classic 'muscle-car' wheels that appealed to me when they were current)

If I can manage it, I plan to have a set stripped with the rim polished + black hub and spokes.

When I bought my '04 Colorado used, it had 4 completely bald tires on steel wheels that had been painted black. Very poorly painted black! I got some wheels and tires from a buddy when he totaled his 4Runner. The hub holes are too big, which is a bit of a pain when rotating tires and getting the lugs to line up, but I like the way they look. I ordered some 3" Chevy bowtie decals that I used on the center caps to cover up the Toyota logo, so I've got kind of an original look. A yellow extended cab Colorado with dark tinted windows, black vent shades, black pin stripes, black fender flairs, 16" Toyota wheels with black "bowtie" center caps, makes my truck pretty "original" I think. That's what I like! Something different. In my high school days, I bought a '69 Malibu 4 door and found a totaled out '69 Chevelle SS and bought the engine, and rear end out of it, and put in a 4 speed transmission Over time, I collected all the "Chevelle" and "SS" badges and put those on. I owned a 4-door '69 Chevelle SS! I ran straight headers and side pipes! I worked at a service station at the time and the owner made me a set of really nice chrome side pipes, since you can't just buy side pipes for a 4-door Malibu! I had Rally wheels off of a corvette and lots of "goodies" under the hood. It was definitely a one-of-a-kind ride. I like to be a little different. You need to pick what works for you. Make it your own, and "dare to be different". You drive a Colorado, so you're well on your way!

i have zq8 wheels on my zq8. white extended cab. i sanded the imperfections on my wheels out and primed with epoxy primer. then i went over it with Restoration Shop color matched to olympic white. Single stage Acrylic Enamel with hardener mixed in shot with my hvlp gun. looks awesome and has clear mixed in. i love white wheels on a white vehicle though.

I had titan 20's on my white crew cab, always loved how they looked.
They've been on three different trucks around town at this point, and if I ever bought another colorado, which is unlikely, I'd buy them back from the current owner in a heartbeat.
