I really like my extang full tilt soft bed cover and if you put the tailgate seal on everything will stay clean and dry and it is super easy to remove or roll up and it's hinged

Ok here are some pix of the cover on my last Colorado and it has been on all 3 colorados now but there are pix of it closed open me nocking the strut off hinging it to 90*and removing it with one hand wile taking the pic and it also un snaps and rolls up and the ribs are easily removed I just did not get pix of that

 

I have the undercover hard cover and i love it. Doesn't leak, sturdy and has quick disconnects to remove easily and can be locked as well.

I have an Astro fiberglass cover. Keeps everything dry but it is heavy to get on and off.

Can yall also tell me if the tailgate can open and close with the lid down and locked or if it has to be raised each time also.

Also I think autoanything had the best price on them shipped I don't know if they still are the cheapest but I bought the one for my dually about a year after I got the one for the Colorado and they were still the cheapest then

 

I like the look of the camper shells on our trucks personally and you have more bed room vertically too but a cover has its advantages as well. Being a bit less expensive probably the big one. I'm kind of stuck on which I should get as well. I don't have any kids or anything but I'd like to get the camper shell as I plan on lifting my truck and I don't like the way bed covers look on lifted trucks. Off topic, but OneLow1Ton your lowered dually is awesome! I love the way those look.

 

I have both, the undercover bedcover and just recently acquired the shell. I will tell you that the undercover is a really nice cover and is light enough that I have pulled it off by myself, although it is kinda awkward it can be done. Only downfall is if you want to paint it, it is made of textured abs plastic and smoothing and painting would be expensive. My only complaint about it is that our beds are kind of shallow and I couldn't fit my six gallon gas cans under it without positioning them exactly perfect, just about everything else I hauled fit fine or there was no way it would fit under a bed cover or a camper shell at all and it wouldn't matter. Since my truck is lifted I like the look of the campershell or the bedcover, but on lowered trucks I don't like the way a shell looks (personal opinion). With either of the 2 that I've had, you have to open it, to open the tailgate. Either way I think that you'll be happy.

Ive alweays kindof wondered what my rado would look like with a smooth camper shell on the back of it. Ill probably never do it but Id like to see it once lol

 

I have a topper and bed liner on mine. I almost never use the bed, but I like the idea of having that much more space.

Pros: More space than a flat top

Cons: Heavy, windows can fog up, takes up a lot of space if you take it off

I got a hard cover. I like it better because it'll hold everything I want it to (including my 12' boat) and keeps it hidden. I know some camper tops have those windows in them and with stuff chilling in the back of my truck here at college. I know there are no eyes snooping in. Aesthetics are basically personal choice imo. I have the A.R.E. cover. I have pics in my album/garage.

 

i'm in the process of buying all my shit to bag my truck on 24's in the back and 22's in the front when i'm done i plan to put a smooth top camper shell with oversized windows on the side onto my truck!! then carpet my bedliner where i'm having my tank and compressors all custom mounted in my bed!

Easy to install, waterproof, improves air flow over the bed as compared to bareback . Improved mileage? I think so, but can't prove it. Secure if you lock your tailgate, I got a lock for my tailgate wired to my alarm, so I've got total piece of mind there. I've had mine a year and a half, and no issues/tears/defects in workmanship, or the rubber hinges.

 

I don't own an Advantage Torza HardHat now but I did and it was a nice compromise tonneau. It's solid inside to prevent someone from slicing through it and getting to your stuff, it looks like a regular tonneau and, if you have a locking tailgate, turns the bed into a great big lockable trunk. Extang has a similar model called the Solid-Fold, I believe. And since both the Torza and Extang are tri-fold models they are really easy for one person to remove when the need arises.

Camper shell has worked out great for me. If you are having a girl, invest in a camping toilet.
With two girls it has worked out great for us, I would never take them into a mens room or send them into the ladies room by themselves so the camper top works out perfectly.
I also have an old dark brown canvas tarp in the back to cover stuff up with, and between that and the tinted top windows it is hard to see in.
Never had much issue with it fogging up, but it is a bitch to clean the windows between the cap and cab. I have a high tech sponge on a stick for that.
Congratulations on the little girl, they are tons of fun and easier to potty train!
