Ok so I have all this in my build thread for the truck but a friend was telling me he was trying to show someone pix of my truck and could not find them google searching so I got thinking I would make a thread for each bumper to help google searchers find different bumper builds

So im just copying and pasting from my build

I started working on the rear bumper tonight all I did was figure out where to cut the bed sides and how I was going to make the mounts and I went and got some nuts to weld into the mount and made the passenger side mount and started the driver here are some pix of the mount un welded

So I only got a few hours in on the bumper today and I have to work a double tomorrow so I'll try to get motivated during the week to finish it but here is a pic of what I got so far

Looking good man did you cut a bit off the bottom of the bed in the rear?
Yeah I cut the bedside off

looks real good.
is it going to attach back to the frame right behind the tire? or just mounting it to the bumper/hitch locations?
For now it's just off the rest of the bumper but once I put longer leaf springs on I'll make a mount that supports the front more than

And I mounted the Hellas with DDM hids but did not wire them yet

Not much but put a coat of black on it tonight and I'll run out and get more paint in the morning so I can try to put it on this week

Ok here are some day time pix and I hacked the exhaust off right after the rear hangers for now but I'm still going to do something with it later and I put the tips on for s&g

After chop

And for anyone interested getting rid of the stock bumper/hitch and adding this bumper gave me 9" more ground clearance at the lowest point on the bumper and that gave me 10* more departure angle

Before bumper hight 21" and 28* departure
After with new bumper is 30" and 38* departure

Not done yet but got a few hours in on it this evening , and I have to cut the latch back off and angle it in some I don't know what I was thinking when I mounted it

They are treadwright guard dogs , there retreads they use a bfg at carcass and they retread them with a tread that is similar to the Goodyear wrangler mt

Thanks , no I have not yet but I will , they are not needed for street driving I can stand on the sides with no deflection but could use them im sure for tree impact on the trail

I got a design in my head to make them bolt on but I want to wait to do them until I swap to chevy 63" leaf springs

Just one question could you throw up some pics of the mounts bolted up to the frame just think it'd help

The last few pix are of the front braces parts I'm going to make so it bolts to the frame with the poly bushings and then bolts th the side wing of the bumper

And those frame mounts slide into the frame a little over 12" gust can't remember off hand

Where did you get the spindle/pivot and latch for the tire carrier?

:cheers::high5:

Here is the cheapest place I can find the latch it's the same one I got has a 2000lb hold
DE-STA-CO 341-R Pull Action Clamp with Threaded U-Bolt | AmazonSupply.com

And I got the mega spindle here
Tire Carrier Swingout Heavy Duty Hinge Kit

And I got my shackle mounts from this guy he is a member on jeep forum and a great guy I have bought from him several times but I gave you his eBay link instead of his jeep forum so you don't have to join , I got my mount 12" long from him because I was not sure how long I wanted and used 10" for the front bumper and the full 12" for the rear

You could just send him a message and ask for longer if you want

I copied this out of my pm with Eddie

And that pin kit that's in there was all this

The pin kit is the pin the giant washer and the weld on stops , yeah I could have made that stuff myself but for 25$ why my time is more valuable
