Here's a question for ya...

"What is the difference between sealed beam and replaceable capsules?"

 

Did you ever see pics of a "work truck" colorado. Some of the auto parts store out here have them. They have sealed beam headlights like the 92 and down s10 had.

 

I know what they are, I was just throwing out a question that would of probably come up later...hehe

idk the numbers and such but someone should add the LED replacements for these and make this a sticky. MC where are you?? sticky time!

 

the fog lights for the Z71 are not H11 they are 9005. trust me i just went through this. i bought h11 hids and the bulb was way different. i put my old 9005 bulb in and it fit great.

 

I agree with 9005 fitting but the factory bulb should be an H11's. I have the factory fogs just like you do and I have ordered 3 diffrent sets of fog lights and they were all H11's. Mabey the hid's they sent you were the wrong ones?

 

Xtremes are H11... but the Z71's are 9005. I will double check but im 99% sure.

 

I just called gm parts and they told me 9045 for a 06 z71? let me know what you get

9045 is correct. which is just a 9005 bulb

not trying to start any trouble just don't want anyone going threw the same **** i did. and not having that other site helping out either

The fog lights on my gmc 04 canyon are H-10 and the book are wrong ---bigger bulbs will melt the plastic lens...look at the backing plate before you buy...

I am running 9005 bulbs in my fogs with no problems.

 

194/168 bulbs will also work for the license plate lights, map lights and footwell lights

 

^ cool i gotta replace a license plate light today... probably just do both so it doesn't look wierd.

 

Oh and I got my license plate bulbs but I have to wait for the exhaust tips to cool off before I get in there. My exhaust is fit so flush that i'll have to be right on the exhaust pipe to change the bulbs. So i'll do it in an hour or 2.

 

Replaced the license bulbs.. hella easy. Saw all 3 types of bulbs and went with the 2825 because they had a long life option available.

 

So if I was to order a new set of Hid's for my fogs (the ones I MADE fit, are threw) what should I order? H11 or 9005?? I confused :rtard:

 

Only the Xtreme gets H11 - all other trucks ( ZQ8, Z85, Z71 ) need a 9005 bulb for fogs.

 

my trucks a zq8 and when i went to order my hids i got h11 for the fogs. when i went to put them in turns out the ones in my fogs were 9045. is a 9045 the same as 9005????

I'm running the Xenon bulbs in all my front lights... 9006 for lows, and 9005 for the highs and fogs. They all shine the same color light that way and improves visibility.

Anybody have a which lights go under the dash? There is a tiny light bulb down there and I can't recall the number. Thanks.

 

So for the 04's im running into confusion. I know the outer bulbs are the DRL's and they are 50% brighter when they are alone. I saw the chart said 3757 and thats what Sylvania's website says for the DRL and parking lights...but i also know 3157 is used for either the parking light or DRL...i dunno what to buy my DRL is burnt out and im not sure if its a 3157 or a 3757

I know, I was looking for the front bulbs to wire up DRL's to the inside bulb and also have Dual turns, the darn thing is different everybody says it's 3757 "not" both bulbs are not the same.
