anyone know if it would be possible to mount these on the top of the leafs? i have 4" blocks so my leafs hang down pretty far, and i dont want to have these be able to get caught on stuff

or could these springs be mounted backwards on the back of the leafs?

I've had these mounted on the top of the leafs in front of the axle for a few months. I was going to make a how-to as well but never got around to it, and my camera is being gay. They work well mounted on top of the leaf and seem to bring the back end of the truck down a little to level it out. I saw no change in my 60' times with these over when I had my Lakewoods on, and have only seen wheelhop once on the day I installed them. Even powerbraking at the track didn't cause any wheelhop. It's a great/cheap fix for the wheelhop on the 355's. :D

Great write-up, good job! :salute:

edit: Here's a pic of them installed on top of the leaf. You have to get them in just the right spot to not rub on the parking brake cable. You could probably bend the bracket holding the cable to move it out of the way, but I haven't had a chance to crawl under there again and take a look at it.

thanks for the pic man, I was going to try that but didn't see them fitting with the parking brake cable. Guess they will. But I also dont want it to lower the rear any so I'll probably leave them be for now. They seem to work good.

Forgive my ignorance, but will these help out the rough ride on 4x4 Z71 2004 Colly? I have a rough ride that annoys me to no end. Have had the tires balanced twice and I have the tire pressure set to 30 on the dot. I am gradually learning to live with it, but it goes to the dealership next week (non-warranty, bought used with 55,000 miles). Just looking for a fix.

I'v just joined up recently and happened to see your post. I have a similar problem and wonder if you found a cause.

I have an 05 Crewcab, and after two sets of new tires, different brands, there is still a feel of wheel bounce at appx 41 mph up to appx 60 mph, varies, on rear of truck. Seems like there is a point of resonance at which a road bump excites movement in suspension for a moment, then another bump dampens it. I wonder if a u-joint or out-of-balance drive shaft could cause this. Truck has 125 K on odometer. Any info appreciated.

I put these on today, The truck seems to handle a little bit better as well as not wheelhop on the 1-2 shift at WOT. Pretty easy job to put on. Just a set of 1/2" wrenches, a ratchet and a 3/4" deep socket

i am deff going to pick up a set of these, i sometimes like to go slideways, the wheel hop is incredible and sometimes knocks itself out of gear

So I just put these on last weekend. I can still get some hop (I am supercharged though) but generally it is better!

I laid a nice set of tracks just flooring the auto the other day, no rev up or anything. Pretty fricken sweet.

Oh and they have leveled the truck a little bit. Once I get a new tonneau (if it is as heavy as my last one) I should be about dead even front to back. Currently there is about half of the original rake.

I've encountered a small problem with mine. They keep hitting the frame on large bumps. It didn't do it when I originally put them on, I'm thinking maybe my shocks are just worn out.
