LED luxury Updated w/Night pics&video

After 3 days of wiring and installation. I finally finish my Puddle lights. After seeing these on most luxury cars. I decided to put them underneath my side mirrors with a slight fade ON and a slow fade OFF. Hopefully i can get some night pics and better night video. Garage is not dark enough during the day. Wiring these was such a PITA getting all my wires for the turn signals and lights through the door boot.

Wish i had HD recorder

Nice Job!

They are for lighting the area around the door for entering or exting the truck. So you dont step in puddles in the dark and such.

Well said rshadd, under the door is good location but i think puddle lights work best either on the door handle, or mirrors.

how did you make the switching on and off fade? or is it within the switch circuitry?
no switch involved. Several ways of doing it but for simple matters i used capacitors and resistors. It also fades with my footwells.

i made some puddle lights too...hahahah
Wow those are bright! Mine are better betcha yours dont fade IN and OUT. hahah
Awesome! Nonetheless

Hopefully it will get dark soon so i can get some better pics.

Here is a simple analog RC circuit schematic. 12VDC source will charge your capacitor and your LEDs beginning to fade ON. Once VDC shuts off the LEDs will slowly discharge the capacitor. 1000 ohm resistor affects the charge and discharge rate, and the 330 ohm is your current limiting resistor for your LEDs. Keep in mind that the 330 resistor will vary depending on your LEDs choice. if you have any questions feel free to ask
