yes, i drive about 2 miles from home to the highway, then 20-25 mins on the highway at 65mph then 2 miles from highway to work...

I typically get around 18mpg with regular gas and a little better with premium gas.

There are several factors that can affect gas mileage. Tire size/gear ratio, weight and how you drive have a big impact on mileage.

What's your mileage? You might need to change the 02 sensors. They tend to make your mpgs shitty around 80k

I'm 18-19mpg highway. ~1-1.5" higher than stock. Stock tires. ~400lb extra weight with mods? Always at least 1/2 bed full of stuff.

City it's more like 14-15mpg. Towing it's 13-14mpg.

i have 107,000 miles. might as well wait till i do the headers to replace them... if its the o2 sensors.
it got the same milage before the lift wheels and tires... and no check engine light.

You can always clean them. They get so full of gunk over time. Most of the time they don't need to be replaced but it's easier to replace them with a higher cost.

Update: Now with K&N air filter, Air Doc cold air intake, ported throttle body and custom tune from James @Supermodulation and an AeroTurbine AT3030XL performance muffler I am getting 21 mpg at 75 mph.....and ALOT more power.

Good to know. Just ordered the parts to make my own airdoc/tonytube and an Aero Turbine 3030. I didn't get the XL so I'm curious how much louder its gonna be.

The XL is just right for my taste anyway...enough bark to let people know what is lurking under the hood, but not loud enough to be annoying..... Here is what mine sounds like:

By the way, the K&N, Air Doc, ported throttle body and AT3030XL gave me increased power, but not mpg. The tune I got from James gave me the increased mpg along with a huge boost in power.

Sounds good. I'll be having the rear cats removed at the same time. So I'm sure it'll be a lot louder.

I currently just have the muffler replaced with pipe. Sounds ok but its a bit too blah sounding. No real tone.

The AT3030 has a really nice tone on the 5.3L. Here is a 2011 GMC Sierra with what I think is the AT3030, not the AT3030XL.

That's the one that got me to pull the trigger too. I didn't realize until later that he is running the AT3030 without the resonator. I am happy with the one I got, I suspect the one without the resonator may drone a bit too much for extended high speed runs like I make all the time. What little bit of drone I get from the XL I can easily drown out with my stereo.
