I might be really, really stupid for asking this, but is there any kind of sway bar that provides extra lift? i have 2in shackles so im gonna get a sway bar, just wanted to know if it can get me any higher?
as far as i know sway bars do not do that; however, i do not know for sure. out of the ones available for the 355 none give any lift

I have a Z-85 and a local auto salvage yard has a ZQ8 with the rear sway bar still attached and me want(especially for only $20). Where can I find some mounts to attach this to my axle? I looked at the Hellwig kits and they have some that are a U-bolt and mount in their kit. I just need to know where I can find those. Tried Summit with no luck.

if you do not have factory mounts then you need to drill a hole into both sides of the frame to run the mounts for the swaybar. the frame is NOT easy to drill through...like i hope you have a good gun and good bits LOL

also can we update the OP to mention that you cannot upgrade the front sway bar on a torsion bar equipped truck.

^^YO MODERATORS ^^ (lol sorry didnt feel like pming and i know this will catch an eye)

I think you messed up the Hellwig front bar size I believe it is 1 5/16 and the rear has two arm mounting postions so it has some tuniblity to it In this case SIZE does Matter.

FYI - I measured 28.1 mm for my factory sway bar dia. (Z71 4x4 2004). I used MOOG bushings which gave me the option of 2 different sizes: 1.095 and 1.140". I use the 1.095.

As a side note: All of my clamp bolts sheard off even after soaking with liquid wrench and heating/cooling. For those living in the northern/salty climates you might want to replace the bolts prior to 80K miles...sheesh! Junk steel.

Just ordered the Belltech rear swaybar #5521 from autoanything for $161 delivered.
FYI Mr. Old Thread.
:lmao:

Recently did this on my Z85 and as stated, the frame is no easy thing to drill through and we had a full shop with air tools and all, but we got it done in about an hour.

According to the How To on the greasable sway bar bushings, Z-71 4x4 torsion bar trucks appear to be 1 1/16 diameter; however my V8 Z-71 4x4 has a 1 1/8" sway bar.

I am getting sway bars from Tony and figured I would go ahead and order the moog end links to replace the stock ones since I really didn't like the fact that you can only get the nut on like 2 threads with the stock ones.

So does the xtreme model have a rear sway bar because I have one and have no rear sway bar

Hmmm mine doesn't have it or any evidence it ever had one. I wonder if the earlier xtremes didn't get them?

Well shit I got robbed
