what's a transfer case.... BTW.....part number is 12378508. Its the new Auto Trak II Fluid. Its blue instead of red. Its what my dealer recommended.
Check out the AMSoil Vehicle Application Guide for your exact vehicle but the transfer case, should have Synthetic Synchromesh Transmission Fluid (5W-30).
Thx guys, I also forgot to ask how much it holds so I know how much to order? That wasnt in the owners manual either, is there a good fsm or another manual anyone can point me to?
Also, is there an Amsoil dealer on here that gives us a discount?
sorry to bring up such an old thread... but syncromesh is No where to be found here in venezuela. not even the dealer has any, everyone keeps telling to me to use synthetic gear oil (75w90)... is this safe??
My transfer case is very low on oil and i need to fix this up asap.
Good news is syncromesh isnt needed, syncromesh is for cluch type drives, ie limited slip axles with clutches, ours is chain driven, just put good synthetic 75-90 and call it a day.
I ended up finding a friend of a friend that had 1 bottle of acdelco syncromesh so i just used that... and put some of the old fluid in to top it off...
thanks for the replies!
