Update,, well i got the volant intake today, im pretty impressed with the website i ordered it from,,, placed the order on monday night and recieved it today around 3,,, on regular ground shipping,,,,,,,,The install was pretty easy no modification needed to be done except the passenger side radiator hose pushed it up a little everything else fits fine,,,,,,the supplied bolt was the wrong one so i just used my original bolt worrked like a charm:D

oh and i cut 1/2" of the bottom tube thats on the air box so it would not rub on the radiator hose,,, it dirint have to be cut but i just did it to be on the safe side ,,, the complete install took like 30minutes its a really good product:thumbup:

Re: Volant intake ordered!!!!

Volant has an airbox to quiet it down a little over the K&N and volant uses the new honeycomb style filters which they claim a 100,000 mile life on.
x2 also imo i think the volant will get you more cooler air than the kn due to it being in a closed box

Thare you go dude,,,,,, Autoplicity.com. Volant 15753 09-11 COLARDO 5.3L - 15753

Yea it looks good and sounds good but doesn't do much on the dyno. Only a 2hp gain on all 3 of the trucks we tested on. Before and after tuning.

2hp is still better than 0hp,,,,pair this up with a port and polished throttle body and im shure ill get more horsepower out of it,,,,ill take looks over hp anyday with the way the crappy stock intake looked,,,,

Stock exhaust? You really won't see the full power increase of an aftermarket intake unless the exhaust is freed up first. A better comparison would be putting a full exhaust on first, then dyno for baseline numbers, then put the intake on, then get new dyno numbers. If you have a free flowing intake and a really restrictive exhaust, the intake isnt doing anything for performance.

True the Mbrp exhaust gained 18hp, and sounds awesome! Id go with that next.

Mine sounds alot louder then stock, sometimes i think its annoying when the truck is under a load like when driving around the city and when the a/c is on i can hear it more when taking off from a stop, but my truck has been tuned and goes into 4th gear at 38mph when cruising. If i keep it in 3rd its not that bad in the cityi just replaced the stock muffler with a 18" body magnaflow muffler and at times i think i hear the intake more then the muffler, but i havent drove the truck alot since i put the muffler on to try tell whats louder. Im thinking about putting dynamat or sum kind of sound insulation on the inside of the air box, but im afraid that the dynamat might hold to much heat once it get hot.
