GeorgiaBoy's Build: "Scratch"

So I finally decided to start a build thread to highlight my trucks progress through the years I've owned it now.... On to Pictars!

First Colorado owned for 2 years before I found the Nation.... 2005 Colorado 2.8L Automatic w/All manual interior. Bought her for $2000! It was an old rural mail truck so she had been rode hard and put away wet so to speak and had 150K on the clock... I had it 2 weeks and a girl ran a red light and t-boned me Good news however cuz her misfortune painted my entire truck for free :p

Added some BFG AT 30x9.50" tires to the stock steels

And thats it for this truck....

THEN....Traded my dad my single cab for this 2005 crew cab full power 2.8L Auto. I had been wanting another truck for quite awhile as the black truck had given me lots of problems. He got a good deal on it so we just swapped.

Got her Thanksgiving Day 2011

AND then I found the Nation and my bank account went to hell....

To be continued tomorrow

Re: My Unnamed Project

One of the first things I got was a set of factory nerf bars and found me a cam locker toolbox that worked with the crew cab bed. Also added a set of Smaxx coil spacers to level her out

Also got all of my stuff switched to LED by Clint and added a custom H3 cluster to top it all off

Then I made the worst mistake and Herculined the bed. It hasn't lasted long and won't hold up to any abuse so as soon as I can I'm getting the truck bed Linex'd.

Re: My Unnamed Project

Got a deal on a set of H3 seats front and rear for a steal

I had to sell the seats as I needed the money so I didn't keep them very long. They were such a good upgrade over the stock bench!

Got the supermod bug and swapped in some white sequential lights along with high and low beam HIDs and wired up factory fogs for the truck.

Got a factory tonneau and loved being able to keep the bed dry and store items inside. It was actually nice to keep my bed from becoming the parking lot trash can

Got a steal on a Scanguage and set it up with a blend mount to make it nice and clean looking

Re: My Unnamed Project

Next started work on the exterior and this is where I got the bug bad for modifying my truck:salute:

First came a set of 20" LTZ Tahoe wheels on the factory suspension but I had some parts already saved up for the next step....
Lifted more with 3" spindles as well as the Smaxx spacers and added load adjusting shocks to the back end with some 4" shackles. Also had to cut and reweld the center support bearing for the additional lift

Re: My Unnamed Project

Still had the lifted bug bad so I got ahold to a set of 5" CST spindles and a set of Hyper silver extremes and this was the new look. Also I got lucky and another member helped ship me some color matched Z71 flares he found in Pensacola, FL that came from a wrecked truck. I loved how they added to the overall look of the truck

At Christmas time I treated myself and the truck to a present and swapped the brakes over to the bigger 09+ setup and added Powerstop drilled and slotted rotors and pads

The past few months I got ahold to a Decoma grille and painted it to match the truck color

My Unnamed Project

Last week I swapped out my broken antenna base and added factory colormatched mirrors that I found from 2 wrecked trucks. I couldn't have gotten any luckier!

Also added a Thule roof rack for loading up stuff for camping, etc.

And this is as she sits here today!

Many more things in the works coming for her. More will happen when I graduate college and get a big boy job

Great looking truck. Where did you get the vent bezels with the chrome?

Preciate it! I got them from 1badi5 idk where he found them. I've been looking for a set of them for awhile
Re: My Unnamed Project *Updated 10/15*

A few updates that I've done lately. Added a factory style USB and Aux input for my radio. Here's the unit I used for anyone interested. [ame]http://www.amazon.com/ASA-Electronics-JENAUX-Audio-Input/dp/B002ZNXX7C[/ame]
Removed the console and ran the wires under the carpet and cut a 1.5" in the compartment to hide the plug ins.

While I was home for Thanksgiving visiting the family I decided to gut/port my manifold out. After talking to Supermod before getting retuned he talked me into it :bestest: only had one problem tho!

I'm in the process of a name to be honest. Idk what to call her. I've had it 3 years this Thanksgiving... Any ideas for a name?

Anyways heres pics of the axle install. I'll get better ones tomorrow as I've gotta finish the brakes and get a set of shocks. Enjoy! Floor Flooring Architecture Automotive wheel system Automotive tire

A magical fairy brought my buddy Hunter a triple decker peanut butter and jelly about 12 am while we worked on it. He was so hungry didn't even get out from under the truck

Did Stevie Wonder help you bend those brake lines?

No actually my friend hunter did those in a trade for a sammich since he got hungry :lmao: I said the same thing about them
Re: My Unnamed Project *Updated 10/15*

I've never done an soa before...and I was looking at doing exactly what you did for it, just putting everything on top of the bump stop reinforcement point. Is there any issue to doing that??

Also, for a name, how about peach lover lol. Or deer hauler. Idk, I'm horrible at naming things.

I don't know of anyone doing that I would expect the perch would be too small? I wouldn't recommend that. I'm horrible with it too this why I haven't finished with a name yet :lmao:
Re: My Unnamed Project *Updated 10/15*

For those of you who didn't know I had issues getting my pinion angle set with the axle and had mean axle wrap with the stock leaf packs. I swapped back to my skyjacker leafs and reduced my angle down to 6 degrees. She drives like a dream now.

I need to find some new stock leaf packs as the rear is too high for my taste. Sits up like a race truck in the ass end and has a ton of wheel gap.

Also compared the truck to a 2015 Z71 they just got in town tonight. Sticker on it was $34,600 :ugh:

I like your upgrade...um Stevie LOL
Thanks James! Looking forward to the new tune when you get that computer in!

Does the stock driveshaft work with the SOA?
Yes sir it does work. I have the 2 piece if you could see from the pics. I need to change my center bearing again as I ripped it with the axle wrap I had on the stock springs

Ok so a small update to the truck for 2015!!!

Finished changing the door handles over to chrome handles thanks to @ivan351. Thanks again bro! Makes them look a lot cleaner to me

And finally got around to upgrading to my 2009 dome light for the truck. Eventually swapping led panels into it when they come in! Automotive lighting Light Lighting Vehicle Car
