I just lost a quart in 150 miles with no smoke or signs of leaks.

Any ideas?

U may have mis-read the dip stick, either 150 miles ago, now, or both. Virtually impossible for a quart to disappear thru the cylinders without smoke. If u check the dip stick after the motor has been off for several hours and then the next time u check it right after turning the motor off, there will be a substantial difference in the 2 readings. It's always best to check the oil level after the motor has been off for a while, thus allowing the oil time to drain back to the pan for a more accurate oil level reading.

You may have hit the nail on the head. I let it sit for hours and the reading is fine but the owners manual says to check with warm oil. I might have been on a slightly uneven surface as well.

But for peace of mind I am going to pull plugs and check compression as I have lost 2 cups of coolant in the last 6 months(saw some dripping from the overflow hose). Cracked heads scare me.

how many miles on the truck?

Check your oil when the motor is cold and on level ground. This will ensure you get the most accuret reading

Hmm I have heard of this problem before. A member down in TX had a similar problem.
Unusual amount of engine oil loss.
He found one side of the valve cover vacuum crank vent was completely clogged with debris.

Have you inspected your tb, vacuum hoses or heavy soot on the exhaust tail pipe?

Hey;

I got a used 2012 Canyon from it’s original owner and face a similar oil lost after the first oil change at little over 1k driven miles. Engine is solid at 122 kmiles and was trying to figure out why. Removed the air intake and found a small oil leak, from a approximate 6” by 1/2” inch hose that is attached from the intake resonator to the engine cylinder cover right side. Cleaned everything and the throttle assembly and put everything back. To the hose, since it was in good shape, just affixed both ends with zip ties since it’s near impossible to get clamps at least on the one right below the resonator. Top oil again and will post results after driving the little fun Canyon a couple of hundred miles. Hope it helps around and thanks for your review!!!!

oil might be going thru your cylinder little by little without signs of smoke or also check the water on the radiator it might be leaking to your water system. if so change head gasket and refurbish the head and change all gaskets
