UPDATE

Ok so I have had others show interest in wanting more of these and I have been in contact with a shop that is willing to cut these out for me on there plasma table so that will save me more time and give you a even more perfect looking part

With that said I'm trying to gauge how many to make this time as I don't want to be sitting on them for ever but I also don't want to have to call him up a week later and ask for more to be cut so if your seriously interested in a set of these let me know ASAP so I can try to get them going

I know I have had 3 people just last week ask me so please respond here so I can keep track

Price is going to change just a little bit they will now be $100 shipped to the lower 48 and $110 usd shipped to Canada Hawaii and Alaska will need a special quote

I did the pricing like that to get rid of the problem of giving quotes on shipping then when I get to USPS it ends up costing more , had it happen on 2 of the last 3 I sent out . IMO it's still a fare price

Mods if I need to do a limited vendor let me know but this is not something I plan to continue to do just trying to help the people that keep asking me to make them some

End of update 2/18/14

So a few weeks ago I had 3 people ask me about making them roof mounts like mine for there led light bars so I made 4 sets sold the first two sets and would now like to offer up the last two sets for $75 + shipping

These have a 1/4" wider base then mine because I removed the rubber Chanel on my truck these should sit on top of your rubber but I provide some self stick rubber to put on the base and also to put on your fender washers for the inside of the roof

Here are a few pix of mine when I was installing them on my truck

These I also moved the front hole back just a touch from the front for easer access to install the front bolt

Yeah let me know ill hang on to a set until you tell me you don't want them . Yes I pulled the a pillar plastic and front oh-shit handles , door weather strip , and sun visors to drop the headliner down enough in the front to get my hands up in there . I also wrapped tape around my drill bit to make a stop so I would not drill to far just in case

Just let me know ! I have no plans to make more anytime soon but if enough people want some ill talk to a friend of a friend and give him the template so he can put it in a cut file and burn some out on his plasma table so I don't have to do so much grinding to make them even looking

Some light does but the light is so bright out in front of the truck and on the hood that the light on the windshild is not an issue unless its dirty .

If I can this weekend ill try to take the truck out somewhere and use my wife's camera to try and get a good shot of what you see from inside the truck but I can't guarantee ill be able to get a good pic of it

That looks awesome. Not sure if I want to go this route yet though. Question, what holds the rubber on the roof top? Does it need to be there for anything? Don't know much about these light bars. What's a good one to go with? Any pics on how you did the wiring?

The stock rubber in the drip rail is two face taped down everywhere except at the very back of the cab on the curve there they used a epoxy to glue that piece on . It's there to hide the roof seams where the roof panel is joined to the body side . I removed mine when I bedlined my truck and chose not to replace them . I got mine from Chris on here with c&b lighting its a nice bar in a median price range , ridge is super expensive but also very nice , and I have had a few friends buy from Olympus offroad and be very happy with there lights also there's are some what cheap in price , I don't know much about them either but I know Cree LEDs are what you want as far as the rest I have no clue , you just kind of need to compare each lights specs ie lumens , ect...

The light bar I got came with a pre made wire harness with switch , relay , all the plugs and terminals already done so all I did was drill a small hole in the roof on the driver side , pull the two pins out of the plug on the harness , push those wires through the roof and rtv around the grommet inside and out , then put the wires back in the connector and plug everything in , run the wires to the switch I mounted on my console and run the power out through the fire wall grommet and connect the fused wire to the battery and connected the ground and I was done

Re: Roof mount for 40" led light bar 2 sets left

I am so up in the air about this, not sure if I want a light bar or not, just cant decide,
if I did,,, I would want it at the back of the cab, I know you loose a bit of the light from it hitting the top of the cab, but I guess I am old and just like the look that is more in line with older trucks with a roll bar with lights on it.

here is a pic I photoshoped to see if i like it, I'm leaning towards yes.

Re: Roof mount for 40" led light bar 2 sets left

I'm total digging the look of it in the back! I think that's where I would put it!

Thanks for the info. Do you think the bracket would work for the rear to?
I'm really thinking about taking out the rubber pieces, those anyone know if anyone has tried to flush the groves where the seems are or smooth out the seems so you wouldn't need the rubber pieces?

Re: Roof mount for 40" led light bar 2 sets left

For me there are a few problems having it farther back on the roof , one being that its going to be the highest point on the truck and two you have to mount it even higher so you have room to adjust it so the roof does not clip of the bottom of the light beam and three I have a crew cab so it would have to be even higher for number two and then your just wasting light output on your roof and hood . The trails I go on are tight on my truck as it is and I realy don't want the light super high up , I would have made it mount even lower than it is now but the curve of the windshild would have made it stick out to far so this was a nice compromise of low and not to far forward

No these mounts can not be used on the back of the roof as the roof there is flat and these have a curve built into them to match the front of the roof . If you remove the rubber these mounts will not fit in the grove like mine do as I made these wider to sit on the rubber .

Yes people have shaved the roof seam , Ivan in SoCal did it on his red extended cab , I think there are a few others also , if you search for something like shaved roof you will find them , but keep in mind that's a lot of welding on the roof and lots of finishing work and then repainting the cab

Now :th_ontopic: two sets for sale , one set pending
