Grant Kustoms makes just a shaved tailgate skin. If you want to go cali, you will lose your tailgate. There is enough room behind the skin to access the stock tail light screws, so you could keep your stock lights, you'd just have to match the gap up really well between the skin and the light.

Also, If you go with the cali, consider the cost of some .5" x.5" square steel tube into the total cost. You'll need that or something similar to brace the skin up.

are you just trying to fix it cheap, or since it's already damaged are you looking for a mod to do?

Seriously tho Ed, just get a replacement gate from Certifit, they are like $65 if I remember right. Not totally sure where you are in TX but they have 3 or 4 stores in TX. You won't get any hardware with it but looking at the pick you should be able to reuse your handle, rods and cables :shrug:

just have a reputable shop shave your tailgate handle. get a tailgate their not that expensive.

I got the tailgate skin from Grant Kustoms...Its been a relatively simple process, and the look of these things is soo much better than stock with the indent at the bottom being deleted as well as the handle of course...post a pic in a minute

you can get a roll pan without the indention, steel or urethane. :shrug:

 

oooo...well that does change everything...Maybe a new gate with a shaved/relocated handle...that might be your best bet

Yeah man, get the grant skin and a grant pan. That's as clean as it gets without doing a combo. Mine would still be like that if it hadn't gotten hit.
