A little over a year of its launch, the look of the next generation of Chevrolet S10 is ready. Car and Driver had access to various data and images on the GMT 355 project, as it is called the pickup by GM and its suppliers. Upon this information we designed the layout of the truck. For anyone who has seen the model - there are units running in testing at Cruz Alta, in Indaiatuba (SP) and many others outside the country - the projection is up to date, the most accurate picture of how the truck will be the next Chevrolet. "I would say that is good looking," says a source close to the manufacturer.

There are still some mysteries about the project. The main one is that the new pickup retires or not the current S10. But who does not bet, has a great chance of winning. Explanation: For GM, now is a successful product in the medium truck segment of entry, ie, those that cost around U.S. $ 70 000. Now with the new pickup, the brand intends to reach another customer, who now buys Toyota Hilux, Mitsubishi L200 Triton, VW Amarok ... Another mystery is where it will be produced. Two plants compete for preference: Sao Jose dos Campos (SP) and Rosario, Argentina.

The new S10 has been developed in Brazil under the attentive care of Americans. Let me explain: the model will also be sold there. In the U.S., will replace the current Colorado. The base model comes from the Isuzu D-Max - hence the high number of busted the South Korean model running tests in Brazil. They are being used as a mule for the new model.

Beyond the Booth version simple and double cab, the truck will innovate to bring an optional "Super Cab", ie cabin fully extended. "It is a requirement for the type of client we want to achieve."

No visual highlight to the huge front grille and the bumper with a stylized chrome strip cutting the piece in half. The lighthouse will almost rectangular shape. To combat new rivals, wait for options with automatic transmission and engine flex. (Luke Litvay).

Well I'm not that fond of the look yet....but its has a better appareance in the fit and finish; almost classy!

If you look at the taillight is has a GMT 900 look to it.

I want to see more pics and especially of the interior! This is promising over all. Maybe a diesel verison or at least a 6 spd transmission for economy.

Why the feck does GM has so many different models all over the world? I mean why is this fugly S-10 thing still being produced in Brazil. No wonder they lost so much money there is no global product consistency

They each have one or two things in the look dept that make me go "Meh, I don't like that" but the complaint I have with ALL of them is the front ends. They all look too soft and rounded.

If I want a soft front end I'll buy a family sedan or get my wife a boob job...

Thats so going to be my SIG in a few minutes!

:wavey: GM

I want to design the next one. At least give me a crack at the front end.

Sincerely,

Boyd

wont really matter cause all the parts are built somewhere else. Even if its assembled here its still made of foreign products.

to me it looks like a chevy minivan front clip. horrible. i will not be getting one of those. looks like im moving up to a full size.

Cab & bed look just like a Titan. I doubt anything even close to that ever gets produced

Hope the GMC front looks better than that. A bed side with no break up in it at all will show every imperfection, don't like that

Dodge front bumper, Fordish Grill, Nissan cab and bed.........Not liken what I see
