So I am going to be installing a new stereo in the truck to replace the stock one and I am going with the single one as opposed to the double style like stock. My question is would it be possible to also mount a CB radio underneath the new stereo in the same opening? I figured this would keep it very clean hide all of the wires and take up no extra space in the truck.
Any input would be greatly appreciated!

Happy Thanksgiving!

good luck with it. i dont see why not if it will fit and you can mount the bracket some how.

Yes. It is very possible WITH THE RIGHT RADIO. The Uniden PRO510 is special in the aspect it's remarkably thin. A Cobra 19 is actually too thick to mount like this, even though it's comparable in size.

What you want to do is instead of using the radio's bracket, use some tape to go around the CB and the stereo to sandwich them both together.

A Uniden PRO510 fits perfect. You'll have to get a little creative with the stereo mounting kit but it can be done. I've done it. The biggest issue is the CB's speaker. Once you mount the CB "inside" the dash, the speaker will be in there too. Just get an external CB speaker and you'll be good to go. Be really careful trimming and nipping the plastic kit to get the radio to fit. You'll have to modify it and cut off so much plastic that the structural integrity of the kit will become flimsy. It will be very delicate so just be gentle and take your time with everything.

That's not what I'm running right now, it was about a year ago though. The FCC got really hot here locally due to some local jackasses on the air and I hid my "big" stuff.

I'm actually working on one of those new Cobra 29's with the all digital display right now. It's under the knife for some upgrades to the recieve and final. I have my 4 pill back under the back seat now too. :)

I drilled a hole under the passenger side door and ran the coax up through the floorboard, underneath the carpet and behind the dash. You can definately run it through the cab vents behind the cab, but then you're risking getting water inside if it rains hard. If eyes' says he dosen't have any water problems, you should be fine then. I've just never ran mine in like that so I couldn't tell you.

I used some clear silicone to seal around the hole that I drilled.

i ran my antenna wire thru the cab vent, between the cab and the bed. then you can run it under the carpet and up under the dash

If you are going to run your antenna feed through the cab mount I would suggest creating a loop lower than the entry point of the cab. Then when water runs down the cable it will travel as far as the loop and drip off instead of following the cable inside of the cabin.

Run the cable lower than the entry point, create a loop and come back UP into the cab through the vent.
