took the truck to a drift even with some friends, it was more of a private day than a big event so its was mainly drivers and a small group of spectators.. Im pretty bummed with the amount of pics and video I got of it.. several photographers out there and 1 video was made.. I got 2 pics and .2seconds of the video lol oh well :(

and heres the full video from that day:

After coming out of one of the sweepers, I lite the tires up going across the pits and heard a LOUD bang from the rear end..

I loaded up my shit and hauled ass home, didnt drive the truck for a few weeks then finally pulled the cover to check it

hole in the cover

RIP G80 :lmao: fixed the hole in the cover, scrapped the metal out, changed the fluid and kept driving it hahahaha

Gotta order a new ring for it then I can put the truetrac in and hopefully that holds for a while..

Well done Ricky, honestly that rear end held together longer then I thought it would with your build

awesome the truck stayed nice and square in your transition very cool lotta points in that you hit your clipping points pretty well too by the looks of it sorry i looooove drifting

hah I was probably no where near the clipping point, due to the fact that the diff kept unlocking for the left handers I couldnt transition very well in some of them, wish I had a hand brake.. and due to my truck still only making 50% of its potential power and the fact that it breaks up really bad under 3k I was having to stay in 2nd and rev it high instead of 3rd and use the torque to push it around and get my wheel speed up, so didn't make the smoke show I wanted to.. but once the truck is done we shall see how it does.

everyone watching said they were impressed what I did with a truck, let alone a truck with a stupid diff and shitty suspension

Awesome pics man, crazy question but did you mod you suspension any to drift? I know the pros run adjustable coilovers in the rear of their drift cars with rebuild LSDs
nope, its still truck shit.. springs and belltech performance shocks.. rear has drop leafs and caltracs.. to say it was a handfull would be an understatement.. between understeer and too much body roll and tack onto that the seats dont hold me for shit it was a battle to get it to do what it did lol

some coilovers, a little more camber up front and maybe bigger sway bars and MORE STEERING angle and I think it could do pretty well, the truck would unload and load up so damn much during transitions it was pretty damn tricky to catch and make stay on track with where I wanted it go

well you made it look really easy, silly diff....... in the clip the body roll seemed pretty minimal, woulda been nice to be there to watch it in action, softer rear end may have reduced the load/unload sensation.... when you get the power there and can play around with 3rd more you will be golden, making the change to a handbrake would be primo and very cool looking..... play around with the toe next time should give you more steering angle without drastically changing out our steering components............im sure you know all about what im saying

yeah I gotcha, depending on if I can get the truck to act how I want I might try a hydraulic hand brake later down the road.. we shall see..

Ive contemplated buying a high mileage tacoma or something and caging it and making a drift truck/ slut/ missle out of it something I can beat the fuck out of with no fucks given

So jealous... Did you drag the traction bars too? looked close in the clip there. building a mustang so I can keep this as the daily, well as best as that works.
