White "film" on my tires?

This is the 2nd time this has happened with these new tires. There's a white film on them, but only the 2 rear tires?

I thought it may be from something I drove through or whatnot, but I don't take this thing off road (yet). The tires looked fine and normal, then I washed the truck up on friday for Summit Truckfest on saturday, and I put a little bit of tire shine on them, but as you saw in the pics, it rained all day.

You CAN wipe/rub it off with your fingers though, but it still doesn't look like the fronts. Here's a little spot I did, right above the "RE" in Venture.

It kind of looks like it's only dirt, but it doesn't have the same consistancy as a tire that has a ring of dirt/mud on it.

And here are the fronts.

What do you guys think? Could it just be a "new tire" thing?

I thought it might've been the tire shine, but if it's only on the rear 2, then I don't know? I also drive through the ditch in the front yard that morning, but it's only grass, not a mud hole or anything.

Could possibly be the tire mounting lube. Weird that it is only the rear two however maybe they required more lube to install. Maybe even aluminum dust (if the tire installer had to clean up the rim beads). Does the dirt line seem to line up with your rim spokes? Could be very dirty behind the rim center cap as well. That's all I got for you.

It could be the front tires throwing it on it might not have done it lower cuz it would've hit the body and been less noticeable? or it could be the same reason it happens to cars at work to much tire shine I noticed when it starts to run it leaves white marks and the rain could've have spread it around even more to get a film everywhere.

ha, its the mold release agent from the tire cast, i deal with kumho tires all day and only certain ones have this problem. rotate the tires front to back and i bet you the two "clean" ones still wont get dusty like this.

best thing to get it off with is a wire brush and soapy water. easiest to do it with the car/truck jacked up and just spin the tire and lay the wire brush on it. light pressure is all it takes. or you could use soapy water and steel wool.
