I ride ATV's a lot and seeing it like this kinda makes me want to pop a wheelie!

 

interesting to know they are wider

 

Has anyone else had this issue? I checked mine with some of our race car stuff and it's 1-1/8" out on the drivers side and 1-1/2" out on the passenger why is it uneven? Just crappy QC at GM?

O'well I like it b/c I'm going to make the front match and the passenger rear and space out the drivers to be even.

 

Think others have posted on this before that they are intentionally made uneven to account for road lean. I know several have posted that the passenger side sticks out more than driver's side.

 

the z71/4x4 rear axles are made wider to compliment the torsion bar set up pushing the front tires out, so it evens out the tires front and rear with the rear axle being wider.

i tried stating this many times to people but noone listens. s10's and most gm's are this way.

 

Oh ok cool. I did a search and found out that the passenger side sticking out is a problem (sorry should have done that b4 asking). I ordered a set of 1.25" wheel spacers for the front off of ebay and got a (2) 1/4" shims off of there for less than $20 to make the drivers side match, may need longer studs not sure yet.

Like I said it prefer that it sticks out I've got Z71 flares on order and was wondering how to fill them out.

 

sry not 3/8 3/16 of movement. the one side will become wider as the other measurement shrinks

your bed has a little bit of play. losen your bed mounting bolts and with a scosche of prying you can effectively make the bed centered on the axle

only it you move it laterally and dont be smart about it. most of our beds are narrower than the cab. when i bought my truck i noticed it was flush on the pass side and inset on the driver side. so i losened the bolts and slid it over a lil. now you cant tell it was ever off

 

laterally? isnt that the only way to move it? not tryin to be a douche jus tryin to understand i mean i have the general idea down jus dont wanna fuck my bed all up lol

 

well you could just grab the back corner and pull on it instead of the middle or the front.

the tire vs bed spatial issue mentioned above only requires movement of 3/8 in or so.


you cant mess up your bed if you losen all 6 bolts a lil.

i agree my passenger side gets a lot muddier

 

I ordered a set of 1/4" wheel spacers on ebay for less than $20 if I put them both on one side that would correct the problem but I don't think that the studs will be long enough and don't wanna change them. I'm probably going to put 1 of them on the lh side and asjust the bed just a little and see how that works.

Once I get the Z71 flares on and the front wheels spaced out I'll post some new pics. Probably do it over this coming weekend.
