I already have the donor ex cab doors and jambs to section and graft on. It is more than possible and for reference, Ekstensive Customs did an 07 silvey. As soon as I saw the step by step in Sport Trucks, I went to the dealer with a tape measure! I hope you beat me to it. I have the parts, but I still have to bring it my canyon back from the dead. i havent driven my money pit in months.

i wanted to do them on my truck but i would have to seal off my back doors which i was considering because all the back of my truck is for my speakers so it wouldnt matter??? has anyone seen it done??

 

theres only 2 colorados to what Ive seen with it done. One is Art's colorado in Cali and one in the northeast. I Say do it, dont shave them relocate them towards the front for handles

Do it, it will make it stand out that much more at shows. Maybe try to put the silverado hinges on it so it swings all the way open. It would be even nicer if you could shave out the b pillar but that would take some major reinforcing of the cab and you'd have to figure out a way to seal the door up.

Might hit up art. He had it done on his truck. He posted some pics on here and it looked pretty sick. I didnt have a chance to check it out at the meet.

 

Art wasn't really showing the suicide doors off at the WCSM'09. He was having some hinge and latch problems due to metal fatigue.

I think it looks cool on a show truck but is by no means anywhere near practical. Try doing a Chinese fire drill with cars parked on both side of you :lol:

 

okay okay LOL, I'm doing something special with the handles, not shaving them. You all will see hopefully very soon. My truck is an 09 crewcab with 7k on it so I had driven it very little LOL. It's in about a million pieces now.

 

Hope to debut the truck fully done by Showfest next year.
