does anyone know how to use it with regards to our checy colorados? i have an 05 colorado ls 3" torsion lift, 1.5" shackle and 1.5" BL.

i got one for christmas recently and was testing it out about a week ago but was trying to figure out if i needed to lift my truck for some reason, where would i do it from?

the guy who got it for me said you can get towing straps and attach them to the actual wheel and lift it up, where on the wheel/tire would i attach tow straps to lift it? will this work?

Also, if i had to lift the front or rear bumper, where should i lift it from? i dont wanna mess my bumpers up or anything.

any ideaS? or experience?

The middle of the rear bumper where you can put a ball without a hitch will work to I've done it up front well i have a custom winch bumper that handles the abuse there's ways to mount it on the bed rail or a tool box easily I'll dig up some pics tomorrow I just keep mine locked in my toolbox

i was thinking about the rear bumper, jacking where the hitch ball goes...

Don't lift on the rear bumper. It will tweak. We fucked up hillbilly_heavens bumper by pulling the center. Not strong enough but your front one the other hand. . .
... but this gives me second thoughts.

Mines supported the weight of the vehicle fine when jacked up with the hi lift  just put it right in the middle done it plenty of times never hurt my bumper no the one side has been pulled out ward by dragging ass on a tree stump and just using the gas. if you pull full bore with a strap yea of course you'll tweak the bumper as for the hydraulic bottle jack yes they're are a good idea hi-lifts serve a purpose for recovery but do not replace a good bottle jack for things such as changing tires

I have that wheel adapter that you were told about. Its called the jack mate. Heres a link to one. Sears: Online department store featuring appliances, tools, fitness equipment and more

It does the lifting job great however, I failed to think about this when I bought it, but if you want to use the high lift for changing flats on the road this isnt exactly a good option. You would have to carry jack stands with you at all times if you wanted to use it for this. When you jack it up by the wheel, theres no way to take the wheel off without disconnecting the jack. Personally I would just mount a harbor frieght hydraulic jack in the bed but thats just me. Way less sketchy imo

I was actually talking about a floor jack. Heres a link: Aluminum Floor Jack - 1.5 Ton Aluminum Racing Jack

From what ive heard a bunch of desert guys use them and havent had many issues with it failing. But a hydro bottle jack would also work very well. Supermod mounted one of those on his truck didnt he? I currently only have the hi lift to get my truck in the air and it sucks hahaha. I want a floor jack so bad

Ah, yes, gotcha. Floor jack would be great too

Yes yes it dose if you know how to use a hi-lift Jack ..... And I have proved that where the bumpers mount to the frame if you lift frome there you will be fine and pulling on a bumper as you show in the pic is always a bad idea you will lose the bumper everytime :yup:

exactly what I was talking about stevo haha.
Brandon ya the floor jack is great for out in the desert and on fireroads and whatnot but in deep mud or rocks i can see where there would be some problems haha
