I dont like how he just pushed up into the bed like it was nothing. I know there's no paint but if there was, I wouldnt be throwing it into the side of the bed like that

I don't really belong in this forum, since I don't own a Colorado... (got a Chevy V8 though)
...but someone linked me to this thread and I had to comment.

I'm hoping more people will build these doors, because I think they're cool and there's too many lambo doors out there. Also if more people build them it will help me work out the little kinks I have in mine. So regarding the doors being flimsy... in the video they're extremely flimsy! On my second attempt, I thought it was necessary for the front "locater bar" to tuck inside the door, so I cut the inner bottom of the door out. This made the door flop and wiggle like crazy. It turns out the bar doesn't have to hide inside but the damage was done and I hadn't yet fixed the hole I made when I recorded the video.

Peace out. Thanks for the kind words people!

P.S. I'm down to see the van track system, but you'd likely have to unibody the truck and hide the track somehow at the top of the bed rail. A track in the bedside would be a bummer.

lmao. At 6'2" it's a tight squeeze. I've since modified the seats to sit flat on the floor. It's much more comfy but I still can't recline. There won't be any long road trips. I built it to drive though... it won't be my daily, but it will be my every-other-day... ly.

im pretty sure it wont be a daily

dude thanks for coming over here and giving us in site. that never happens when someone puts a build of some else s work.

personally guys and gals i think its pretty sick. it looks as if its NOT hitting the bed but rather the bars are hitting inside the door to stop it.

keep us up to date man:high5:
No thanks needed, brother. I'm a modest guy and don't like to talk about the truck much, but I love to answer questions and share knowledge if I can.

As for keeping you up to date... like I said I don't really belong here but I keep the Street Source forum above updated regularly.

PS... in the video... it was smacking the bed pretty good. I have since added bump stops at the hinge points to keep it away from the future paint. Some nicely padded upholstery on the door panels should help in the event of that occasional massive ninja wind burst.
