The Sleeping Anomaly

Usually in automotive terms, a “sleeper” is defined by a vehicle with extensive modifications to performance and handling to significantly increase the performance. This all while the exterior of the vehicle remains looking OEM.

Our sleeping anomaly project has similar meaning, but with a different end result in mind. The truck will have the exterior (and interior) look of an OEM 2006 GMC Canyon, but under the body is a whole different story. This 355 won’t be racing for slips at midnight, instead it will be on full custom air suspension, laying frame on 29” OD all season tires with factory 15’s. No shaved handles and bumpers here.

The Platform:

2006 GMC Canyon 2WD Z85, Superior Blue, Regular Cab, Short Box, Base model.

The Build Breakdown:

- KrFabs No-Pro Transmission crossmember
- KrFabs Front Gastank crossmember
- KrFabs Rear 5-link wishbone system with Slam SS7’s
- KrFabs Exo Upper Gastank crossmember
- KrFabs Radius Corner plate frame notch
- KrFabs front bag plate kit with Slam SS6’s
- Accuair E-Level system
- Accuair VU4 valve unit
- Belltech 2” Lowering Bj’s & ProForged Upper BJ’s
- Viair 444C dual compressors
- Stinger 80A Relay
- 7 gal on-board air tank
- KP Single needle tank pressure gauge
- KrFabs Rear Disc brake conversion
- 7” Chrome Dual Diaphragm Brake booster & Alum. Master Cylinder
- Optima Red Top Battery
- K&N Filter on modified stock intake
- Front wheel tubs welded in place and painted factory blue
- Bed floor partially raised, partially stock with access hatch, finished with bedliner
