Anyone ever have any problems with a bed rattle? I've got some noise coming from the back end of the truck and it seems to be getting worse in my opinion. I've checked the suspension and everything is good and tight. Happens whenever I hit a hole, speed bump, railroad track with some speed. Sounds like the ass end is going to come loose.

Any help is appreciated!:salute:

Could be the leafs in your leaf pack making noise...can put some grease between them to quiet that. Also, check the 4 bolts that fasten down the bed...had a similar noise on mine coming from the back of the cab and 2 of the cab bolts on one side were about 20 lb/ft loose. Could also be your spare tire swinging around...mine bumps into my exhaust a bit under the right circumstances. Keep us posted.

Also, have you checked to make sure your rear bumper and fuel tank bolts are tight?

Yea the rear bumper bolts are tight. I had to swap my old bumper and my tow package over to this truck when I bought this truck. Its all good and tight and I tighted up the bed bolts with an impact about a month ago and still dont know what it is. I havent thought about the fuel tank tho. I'll tackle that today if I get time. Thanks!!

Yeah...2 bands hold it up with 1 bolt in each...could rattle up and down a bit if they're loose probably. If not sit in the box and have a friend drive you around (do it in the country if it's to ride in a truck there) and try to better pinpoint the location.

Ohh hadn't thought about that...mine's never made noise, but definitely worth checking out as well.

I've had a sound coming from the back of the truck when going over bumps since I bought it last month. The best way I can describe the noise is similar to sound of a horse gallop in a movie. A slight click/clunk sound.

Maybe we are having the same problem?

That sounds more like a U joint to me than a rattle...is the clunk a metallic clicking noise when you stick your head out the window to listen? (A metallic noise can sound different outside because the cab mutes it).

I've had this truck for 4 years in February (it's a 2005), and Alberta winters are hard on vehicles, with the expansion and contraction of parts due to the rapid temperature shift we experience here. I have a few odd little rattles (less than I would have expected), but they've only shown up in the last year really, and are all easy fixes. Worst rattle trap I've been in is our POS 2004 Nissan Armada...not a very good vehicle IMHO.

Ok so I added a new toolbox to the truck and the noise quieted down ALOT!! I think that the rear quarter panels were what was rattling. This truck has ridden alot of South GA dirtroads

I also checked all the springs and sprayed them down with some hilco lube and checked all my mounts and everything is solid. Idk what it can be but I dont hear it as bad now. It sounded like a really loud clunk like the axle was loose

Nope the shocks are brand new with less than 5K on them. Mine was really bad whenever you go over a bad railroad crossing or hit a good pothole
Check your tailgates. Mine rattle like a mofo. Lazy and haven't adjusted it yet.
Yea I do need to adjust that. I might do that today after work.

Thanks for all the help and insight everyone!

Mine does it if I'm crossing a rough bridge, or a pothole or something. It's not really a rattle, it's more of a "deep rubber/metal squeak" that sounds like it's coming from the front part of the bed.

I can replicate the sound by pushing on the right corner of the bed and rocking the truck.

Ugh, I hate awakening old threads but I have this same rattle on my truck. I'll try to get a video of it tomorrow to see if mine is the same as what was on this thread.
