Thanks for all warm welcomes fellas, I love my 355! However there are two aspects of the rig i wish i could figure out how to mod a little bit. #1 storage i'm nearly 6'5'' rockin 2 car seats! so not much room. i have just added a tonneau cover so i'm hoping that will help. under the rear bench seat is almost pointless. #2 gas mileage, she gets like 14 mpg i'm sure most of that is the 5.3 4wd and 4.10 running gear. currently i'm getting around 250 miles to the tank. One other thing ill look more into the correct threads as i learn to navigate the site better. My canyon didn't come with a spare tire and i have had trouble finding one for cheap in town. I am also going to have to find an alternate place to mount the spare due to the exhaust. Anyways thanks fellas for all the good reads and welcomes! Wayne

 

GM made an under seat storage try for crew cabs, but good luck finding one.

As for the gas mileage, a tune could potentially net you a couple of MPGs, and perhaps a little more power in the process. These trucks are very watered down from the factory.

You can also run some BG 44K to see if that helps on mileage. My 2WD 3.42 ring gear 5.3 gets an average of 18mpg. This is an average of the total 40,000 miles of driving. I have gotten as much as 19.74 and as low as 15 overall.

No doubt a tune will help on the MPG.

Excaliber, it's cool your only 50 miles out or so. I have been working @ WCMC since sept. just finished changing the nurse call out there. Before that was putting in a fire alarm @ Land O Frost. BTW Awesome truck bro. I really like your front bumper! Im glad to see another Arkansas guy on here! I think my next project is going to be some sort of roof rack/safari basket for a spare tire mount mainly.
